"He doesn't have his own Food Network show and his name isn't on plates in Macy's, but kids love to learn about food from this guy. Matthew Locricchio
wears many hats - chef, teacher and award-winning author. He is the real deal. His cookbooks whick kids away on a global adventure, connect them to
culktures and build their confidence through pure and authentic recipes. With the success of his first international cookbook for kids, Locricchio
has now released The 2nd International Cookbook for Kids.
Matthew was born into a restaurant and catering family in Detroit and has worked in the food service industry a great part of his life. Included in
his resume as a chef are stints at the well known Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor, Michigan, The West Coast Stock Exchange's private club in San Francisco,
as well as the legendary Barbary Coast restaurant.
Also a playwright and actor, Matthew has worked in numerous commercials, soap operas, films and television shows. On stage he has toured with the
Lincoln Center Institute and appeared at such theaters as the Public Theatre and The Roundabout in New York City, Yale Repertory, and the Magic
Theater in San Francisco. As a playwright his works for young audiences include Lifelife: The Gameshow and his adaption of The Legend of
Sleepy Hollow.
Matthew is currently a guest instructor at The Institute of CulinaryB Education in New York City. His popular classes, for kids 12 years and up,
focus on the cuisines of Thailand, Brazil, China, Mexico and Italy. He guest lectures in the series "Advetures in the Global Kitchen for Kids and
Families" at The American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
Why are Locicchio's recipes so effective at educating and engaging kids? Well, to perfect recipes, Matthew has his "Recipes Testers Club" - a group
of young aspiring chefs that test, taste and approve each of his recipes. He also teaches a variety of international cooking classes around New York.
So, whether it's The Institure of Culinary Education, the Hudson Opera House or a private birthday party for a group of children, Locricchio has
mastered how to make recipes work for kids." - courtesy of LAD Communications and Marshall Cavendish (publisher)
