This week's recipe was submitted to us by 7 year old Olivia of Colorado.
Olivia's Mom says, "Olivia made this for her baby cousins first birthday. She added blueberries in heart on top, as they are the baby's favorite treat."
Cornbread Cake
Tools needed:
2 mixing bowls
mixing spoon
1c, 1/2c and 1/4 measuring cups
tablespoon and 1/2 teaspoon
9X9 inch baking pan or two heart shaped disposable pans
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup flour
3/4 cup corn meal
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup corn or canola oil
3 eggs
handful of blueberries
Instructions:
Mix flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt together. Mix milk, oil and eggs togther. Blend dry and wet ingredients together. Pour in
greased pan. Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 350°F. Done when tooth pick comes out clean. Add blueberries on top in any design you want.
Prep time: 5 minutes
Serves: 6
