This week’s recipe was submitted to us by 12 year old Shane in Pennsylvania. Shane says, "The recipe is very easy to prepare and tastes delicious warm or at room temperature."
Banana Slammer Bread
Tools needed:
1 cup dry measuring cup
1/3 cup dry measuring cup
1/4 cup dry measuring cup
1 teaspoon measuring spoon
1/4 teaspoon measuring spoon
butter knife
loaf pan
large bowl
mixer
oven mitt or pot holder
Ingredients:
2 and 1/2 cups mashed bananas
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 stick butter or margarine
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Grease one loaf pan
3. Peel and mash bananas.
4. Put bananas, butter or margarine, sugar and eggs in large bowl and beat with mixer until well blended. Mixture may be lumpy.
5. Add salt and baking soda and mix well.
6. Add flour and mix until very well blended.
7. Pour batter into loaf pan and put pan in oven.
8. Bake for 1 and 1/2 hours or until a butter knife poked in the center comes out clean.
9. Take carefully from oven and let cool for 15 minutes.
10. Remove from pan and enjoy
Prep time: 15 minutes Serves: 8
