Dump Cake

Dump Cake

1 can pineapple tidbits
1 can cherries in syrup
1 package yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter

In a 9X13 pan, dump the cans of fruit and spread out. Then, dump out the cake mix and spread out evenly. Then, cut the butter into pieces over the top evenly. Bake in a 350 degree oven until hot and bublly.

I personally like to put pecans in with the fruit.

I haven't tried it with any other fruit. I personally think the pineapples and cherries make it.However, if you do use other fruit, please let me know how it turns out.

I was just thinking about dump cake the other day. I've never made it but it is good.

I don't bake but this cake sounds fool proof. I think I may try it with peaches.

It is full proof. The church we attended in Texas always had a bake-off every Valentine's Day. The men baked desserts and the women judged them! My DH came home from work, threw this together, took a shower, and brought this while it was still hot. He won first place over the men, many of whom spent days on their desserts. I'd really like to know how it turns out with peaches.

Debora one of my sil used to make a long time of go so most of the group knows how to make it, this is the first time any of us has made it for the reuion. Also they always used cherries in thiers.

Nell, that sounds like my DH's family. I get some of my best recipes from his family reunions. There were 4 kids in his mother's family. Each of those kids had kids, and so on. Now the children of my DH's cousins are grow and bring their own children to the reunion. There were 50 coming when I first got married 27 years ago and that included children and some friends that family members brought.
