Kaleidoscope Cookies
20 oz refrigerated sugar cookie dough
flour, optional
food coloring, two colors
2 T sprinkles or colored sugar

Cut dough into 5 equal pieces. cover & refrigerate 1 section. Sprinkle remaining 4 sections with flour to minimize sticking, if necessary.

Add food coloring to 1 section until well blended. Repeat with another section of dough in a different color. Roll each section into a 7 1/2" log. cover & refrigerate.

Add 1 T sprinkles or colored sugar in third section. Repeat with fourth section. Roll each section into 7 1/2" log. Cover & refrigerate.

Roll reserved section of dough on sheet of wax paper into 8x9" rectangle. Place logs of dough in middle of rectangle so that matching colors are diagonal from each other.

Bring waxed paper & closest edge of dough up & over top of logs. Press gently. Repeat with opposite side, overlapping dough edges. Wrap waxed paper around dough & twist ends to secure.

Freeze 20 min. Preheat oven to 350. Grease cookie sheet. Remove wax paper. Cut log with sharp knife into 1/2" slides Place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.

Bake 15-17 min or until edges are lightely browned. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.

Yes they are. We used blue & red food coloring and the multi colored dots in the other two sections. I would use bigger sprinkles in the future as the dots didn't show up as well.

I will have my GKs for up to a week starting today. I thought it would be fun to make them some cokkies.
