A young man recently told me that celery had negative calories. While sharing this news with ladies I know, some of them seem to have already found out this secret. Just in case you didn't know about it, you can say you heard it on MomsMenu.com FIRST! "Negative calories, you say? what does that mean?" He explained it took more calories to digest the celery than the celery contained! Hmmm... I wonder if that's why we feel the need to add peanut butter or cream cheese?:p

Here is some information on FAT GRAMS VERSUS FAT CALORIES:
There are 9 calories in one gram of fat. If you want to know what percentage of a particular food is fat, multiply the fat gram content by 9. Here is an example; one cup of whole milk contains 150 calories. It contains 8 fat grams. You multiply the 8 fat grams times 9 and find out one cup of whole milk contains 72 saturated fat calories! So that tells you that almost half the calories in whole milk come from saturated fat! Now you know why so many people have switched to skim milk! LOL

Here are some subs***utions fo sugar using Sweet N Low.
1/4 cup = 3 packets Sweet n Low
1/3 cup = 4 packets sweet n Low
1/2 cup = 6 packets sweet n Low
3/4 cup = 9 packets sweet n Low
1 cup = 12 packets sweet n Low
A lot of people including me like Equal, but you can't bake with that! It is Nutrasweet which contains aspartame and it breaks down at temperatures over 85 degrees and losses its sweetness.
Some info I thought someone might be able to use!

Did you know that if you put a piece of celery in a kettle when cooking cabbage that you will have no cabbage odor in the house!
And.... if your celery loses its crispness, put it in a pan of cold water with a raw potato; let it stand awhile and the celery will be crunchy again.
