Last time I was at my mil's house she had been given a bread machine and needed help figuring out how to make it work. I don't know if she has made a lot of bread since I was there, but now I'll have to check.

I have two in my pantry, but I seem to go in spells with them. For a while I'll use them all the time and then I won't use them for a while. I really like them, but would like to make much more than regular breads in them. I have some recipes for rolls, and other doughs, but just haven't done a lot of that.

It took me awhile to figure out how to work my mil's as she asked me to teach her how to use it. I usually make mine with my hands as that is a good way to get my aggression out.
I wonder if anyone has made things other than bread in their bread machine, like cornbread?

I never thought of cornbread, will have to do a search for that one and will let you know if I find a recipe for that. It would be really good not to use the oven in the summer for that!

I just wondered if there were other things that could be made in bread machines besides yeast bread. If someone figured that out, they could make a cookbook.

That would be a neat idea, any takers on that one? I'd just love to be able to incorporate it for a other uses!

If you go to http://www.recipelink.com/mf/11/6807 you will see several posts that discuss using it to cook cake mixes, quick breads and coffeecakes. One person mentions that their machine has a "batter bread" setting (I think) with a start to finish time of 1hr and 40min. I'll be on the lookout for others....

Oh thank you! I will go check out the site! I just like to make multiple use out of things and just hate the bread machine sitting there when not baking bread. And with the heat of summer it would be so nice to use otherwise. Will watch for anything else you may find!

This link has lots of bread recipes...PB&J bread? Yogurt bread? Taco bread? Sweet Potato Pecan bread? Strawberry Cream Cheese bread? Summer fruit/veggie breads? Pepperoni bread? Potato bread? Oreo Cookie bread? Gingerbread loaf? English muffin bread? And that's not all....I have to try some of these.

This is a site that has fat free bread and "quick" bread recipes.
http://www.fatfree.com/recipes/breads-machine/
Examples: "popcorn" bread, apple-cinnamon bread (which looks like it would be a really good breakfast bread), and more.
I know you were originally looking for "other than bread" recipes, but some of these looked so good that I couldn't resist passing them along.
