Since I am finished doing the work that I need to do here at school and I don't have class for another hour, I figured that I could pop in and say hi. I need to read my chapters in my book by Barry Scheck before tonight. Remember him? He is the guy from the OJ trial that help get him off. My nerves are shot today and I have a stress headache. I need my brain today or I would take something for the headache. Thank God tomorrow is Thursday. I have a meeting at 4pm and one at 7pm and that will be it. I will enjoy laying around most of the day. I should be getting a hot water heater today during the 2 free hours that I have between classes. I am hoping anyway.

DeBora hope things are going better for you today. I'm at home with the family tonight as one of my nephew is staying with mom. Bil had to have open heart double by-pass on Thursday they moved out Of icu to a regular room today. I'''ve been told he is doing real well. Still having some prolbems breathing as he has to get use to breathing thru his nose again as he hasn't been able to for awhile. Mom is suppose go to the heart doctor sometime this week to find out what they will do about her heart. I'll be going back to mom's tomorrow, don't know how long I'll have to be with her so I may not get to come back again for awhile. Hope everyone has agreat Sunday and next week. Cat yes dd got to dance at the game as it was homecomimg this week.They won the game,so far they have won three out of four games. Dd went to a dance for the band and danceline , she said it was the best thing to happen all week. The downside was a graduted from this school who in fact was my sons age killed his girlfriend who had broke up with him then he shot himself a freind of the girl found him and called 911 the police then found the girl in the apartment. the guy was 23 and the woman was 26, we know the womans roommate real well,my oldest nephew knows the woman that found them. Also a student was killed in a car accident he was 18,my dd said they had a moment of silent for both of the guys. I'm trying to take it easy while here at home but have some things to take care of. But I will take time for myself.Thanks for remenbering my family and I, I know you and Debora are thinking about me and that means alot to me.

I've been making cat & dog cedar filled pillows for the dog and cat houses for the winter. Now if some of them don't chew them up before the really cold weather gets here (again) we'll be a set for all the outdoor cats and dogs. It is supposed to get cold angain towards the end of the week.

Cat, yes that is Bobby. I will be seeing him on the 12th next month at lunch for a fan club outing. This will be DH's first time to see Bobby outside of an autograph session or a race. We will also be going to the time trials and race as well.

A Dell advocate heard about the trouble I had been having with my computer since I bought it. She explained things that should have been explained to me when I bought it. Anyway, I was on the phone with a tech who was helping me figure out why I can post pictures and see the pictures of others, but I cannot see my own, except from a different computer. I still cannot see the picture I posted and nobody can figure out why I cannot see my own pictures. We do know it is not the Web site or Internet Explorer. The tech helped me fix some other problems that have been going on since day 1 though.

Nell, I hope everyone in your family continues to heal.

It was a difficult day in the lab. My professor griped because I was getting more students in the lab for research purposes. I told him that was because I had to work around a certain grad school student's schedule, which was no experiements after 2:30pm. The professor told me that I did NOT work around that student's schedule; I worked around HIS. I reminded him, in a firm voice, that I was instructed by HIM to work around the other student's schedule! He said he was sorry and that from now on I am in charge of the Behavioral Lab and I answer to noone but him. We discussed what my schedule change so that we can get all the students in all the classes that require credit for participation. I think of, "The hurrier I go the behinder I get" when I deal with this man. He had to ask me 3 times which experiment number I was doing and then would make attempts to multi-task and then forget again. I think he would have more time to do all the things that he wants to do if he better managed his time.

On the good note, he has given me some stuff to do with Eli, a grad student. If I get the stuff organized and entered in SPSS and analyzed, I will be listed as one of the authors. The cool deal is that I will be published! It is rare that an undergrad gets published. Of course, that may be a while away IF it happens.

I think I have about everything ready for tomorrow. Getting up early and making german potato salad, chili, and trimming some boneless pork loins to put on the grill for sandwiches. I made FF oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip cookies yesterday. Made pumpkin pie squares today so we should have plenty to eat!

DeBora hope all goes well tomorrow for you. My sister decided to take mom to the doctor which is fine with me as she understands that stuff better than me,I told her I would check on her dh for her to make sure he was okay. Well dd won't be able to perform til next six weeks if she gets her grades up as she failed math and english is a grade of 65. She is getting tutored in both classes so hopefully she can bring them up. She is kinda glad for the break.

Got an email from some other friends we haven't seen for 30 years; we lost touch for lots of years. They are planning on coming up to visit next week one day so I'm going to have to come up with another meal or two for their visit.

One of the guineas were just yelling and it got further and further away; I went outside and didn't see any feathers laying around so don't know if something just got one or what; maybe after daylight I'll be able to tell something.

Cat thats alright. My sister and I don't get along to good but for now I try to help her as much as I can. I think once mom's gone my sister and I will drift apart completely.My sister and I have never been close even growing up as she the pushie type that think her way is the best and I just don't let her push me around anymore. I went to meet Train at the depot and a freight train had problem so no passenger trains were going to come through for awhile. So, I didn't get to meet her, but I did get to talk to her via the telephone. I made her some cream cheese braids, but I will have to share with everyone in the lab during our meeting today. Well, it is almost time for me to take Poncho to the Vet and pray that I get back in time for my meeting. Then, I tutor after that.

Thanks DeBora, I am very close to my kids I try to spend as much time with each of them as I can doing things that interest both of them and to be there to help in any way I can. They are also close to each other and do alot of things togather.I feel sorry for the boys who date dd as they will not only have to get approve by me and dh but bubba will have to like them also.LOL
Well our little male kitten got killed tonight so we down to just the female kitten,she is still looking for her brother it is so sad. Well I hope you both have a good night and get a good rest.

Oh, that's so sad about the kitten. Snowflake is past due I believe! You can actaully see the shapes of the kittens she is carrying. Wish I could give you one when they are ready as I know you would give it a good home!

Nell, I am glad that you and your kids are close. Sorry about the kitten.

I wasn't able to meet Donna today at there was a frieght train problem and to make a terrible long story short, we weren't able to meet due to the fact that freight trains take priority over passenger trains.

I went to my lab meeting and felt important when one scientist told of his experiment on the brain only for me to ask what he would do when dyslexic people came to do the EEG or fMRI? He, nor anyone else ever thought of that!!! I felt so smart! lol He will be using letters that will include pqbd that many might get confused that has that disorder. They will exclude people who have that as not to throw off the data.

The bad news for me is one of Poncho's growths came back as a possible positive for cancer. He is scheduled for surgery a week from tomorrow to have them removed and tested by a pathologist to be sure if they are or are not cancer. That will be days before we leave for the races. I can only pray for good results. I am still anxious from the results.

Hope all goes well with Poncho! Our pets are just like members of the family and I truly believe they know when they are loved and made to be a part of the family. My thoughts will be with you during the uneasy time of waiting.

We brought home 10 more guineas yesterday, they were getting into too much trouble where they lived and the people had to get rid of them. They aren't fully grown yet so I put them in the large pen for the winter so they can survive without having to "learn" about the winter dangers". Next spring thye will have learned where "home" is and then they will become free range like most of the other guineas. I feel like a animal shelter! I just can't seem to turn down animals that need a home! LOL Have a good day!

Yes Cat, it did feel good that I was on the same level as the scientists who were there to do research with grant money. I am still green though. lol

Today was a nightmare. I had problems with all 3 of my computers and a "situation" with a student that I cannot discuss in public. Then, on top of that, all my analyzed data from research class was un-retrievable, so I had to re-analyze it. However, I am almost finished getting Eli's data from his EEG's so they can be analyzed. I would have finished today, except with my luck with the computers today, I had better not push my luck. lol Tonight I have a 3 hour class. I am soooo dreading it. I am completely beat!

On a good note, DH is on his way here to visit me. He will be here about 30 minutes before my class starts. Well, I'd better go catch up on emails.

I took the ladder and the insulation all down to it today so even if it is raining I can work on that inside. I think it will be really neat to be working in the greenhouse in the rain! Just being up high and seeing it all

DeBora the newest guineas are getting along fine with our older group; thank goodness. Now all I need are about 50 more to get us back up to the number we originally had before the coyotes and raccoons had dinner last winter! So at his point counting all the various chickens we are up to about 80 right now.

No special eats, just heated up some more leftover chili. We would have to do some major raod travel to eat anywhere; all we have in English (and that is 10 miles one way) is two small country restaurants and one of those is a eat out side on picnic tables. We don't do "special" things for holidays and birthdays usually. Just buy stuff when we either need it or see a good deal on something we want. Kind of nice that way " I don't have to wait for something special to get something I want";tee-hee!

Got all the reflective insulation up on the roof and back wall of
the greenhouse! Now all I have to do is wash the inside of the windows and put up some clings to keep the birds from flying into all the windows!~

Got all the insulation up in the greenhouse, now I have to wash the windows on the inside and puit up clings so the birds don't fly into the windows!~ Thanks sweetnell for the ecard! I found it late last night after I finally got down through bunches of other emails. I tend to go through my emails as they appear which is newest first. Watch for return to you!

Snowflake had her kittens; there are five of them. Two grey and white and one of them have a slight bit of red by one ear like the dad. Two are grey and one is black stripe. Of course I don't know which is girsl or boys yet. Snowflake is already letting me pick them up and cuddle them. We had two boxes put down for her but she had them on the concrete floor! So it will be easy to wash up! Already moved them in to the blanket lined box and put up a heat lamp with a 100 watt bulb in it over a basket in case she wants to move them there. Our mudroom floor is as you come in downstairs and it is a concrete floor so no heat and that floor has already turned cool.
Hope you get all your paper writing done today DeBora without wearing yourself out! Do you do it on your computer? If so at least you aren't having to actually do all the handwriting! LOL

Nell, I am glad your mother's appointment went well. I wonder if she is on a drug like Benazapril? That is what my dog takes to regulate his heart and the drug is usually for humans.

Yes, I write all my papers on the computer. They have to have a reference page, a cover page, and have to be in APA (American Psychological Assosication) format. The 2 that I have to write for my forensics minor classes have to be 8 pages in length, no more no less. I also have research to do on grandparents raising their grandchildren for community psych class. I want to get as much done before my race starts in an hour and 15 minutes. So, adios!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. DH just left to go back to Carlsbad. He did my laundry and dishes and even cleaned up the trailer for me. It is good to be caught up on everything. I dread tomorrow. My day won't end until 6pm. A computer tech took things off my computers in the research lab and I won't know until tomorrow if he deleted my programs that I use to run participants. If that is the case, I will be franticly trying to reach one of the grad students to find out where the back-ups are located or where to go to retrieve it.

On the good side, only 10 more days before we leave for North Carolina. I am trying to get my research paper on forensic psychology written before we leave. The more work I can get out of the way, the better I will feel.

Going o Pao;i today if our local grocery doesn't ha the fresh veggies I need for chicken stew. Friends from Florida coming Tuesday or Wednesday we haven't seen in 30 years! Won't we all look different! LOL Going to fix chicken stew today and reheat that day in the crockpot, grilled Italian marinated chicken breast and pork loin for sandwiches, small bowls of macaroni salad and mayonnaise-mustard potato salad. Will fix pumpkin pie
squares for dessert.

I don't have any classes on Tuesdays, but I do work in the lab for 4 hours. No problems today. Can you believe it? I love it! However, I have been working on my research paper on forensic psychology and how it has changed or been affected by the Daubert case that changed the law on expert testimony (Rule 702). I would like to get that written before I leave on my trip next Wednesday in the wee hours of the morning. I would also like to get started on my Clarence Thomas paper as well for my criminal procedure class. I am also working on my presentation for the research that I just finished that is due Monday. I am just busy, busy, busy.

We had a really nice visit and lunch together. It was like we never had a time lapse from each other! The day just went too quick! They enjoyed our relaxed suirroundings here and said they will becoming back to spend more time here. Did a lot of catching up; so the day went very well.

Glad everything at school seems to be heading in the "smooth" direction for you DeBora! Hope it continues that way!

Sweetnell hope your feet swelling goes down. I know how miserable that can be and stop you from doing things! I have lympdemia in both legs so there are lots of times I just have to prop them feet and legs up and do sitting down things. Sure hope you feel better soon!

I have a 1 hour class this morning, a 3 hour class this afternoon, and another 3 hour class tonight. I don't work in the lab on Wednesdays and on Thursdays I only have to attend a 1 hour meeting in the lab and no classes. However, I do have to tutor several students after the lab meeting. I am just about finished with my research paper. I am about to leave for school and work on the few things that I have before my first class starts. I hope all is well with everyone.

DeBora I have try using mrs.dash seasonings in place of salt,but dh saids he has to have salt so I have cut back on it and let them add the amount that they want.But sometimes I slip and add to much lol! We usually give DH's brothers and sisters a little handicraft gift and I do the same with my sister. Just give the DS's & families gifts and a gift card each and then we are done. We try to deliver them all by later November at the latest because we never know how the weather will be in December. That is my biggest next project.

Nell, since I am a salt-addict, I will take the 5th. lol However, have you thought about using food high is sodium and high in flavor like jarred jalapenos? Then, you can add the jarred low sodium jarred high flavored foods and then mix them with the high sodium foods until you have low-sodium foods. It is just an idea. Have fun cleaning out a room. Thank GOD that my DH did that for me recently! I married a wonderful man. Also, it sounds like the fall or spring is the best time to work on that room. Keep up the good work. I agree that is a cute tag. Roses are my fave. I like red the best, but I like them all!

I had a LONG day! I hate Wednesdays. I just got home from my Forensics class. It is difficult, but interesting. I told the Judge that I would be absent next week in both the classes that I have him in. I was prepared, since he takes off for un-justified absenses, to argue like an attorney to explain why I would be gone. He is an avid football fan and I was going to correlate football with NASCAR. But, he didn't ask. So, I used the "Don't ask, don't tell" approach. lol

We finished the soft sciences (like psychology) and started on the police sciences. We started document examination and fire arm examination. Next, we will start fingerprint analysis. All this should cover impressions that come in to court. It is a difficult, but interesting. It is difficult because we have to cover cases and law.

I need to go and do the things that are due before my trip. I am trying to finish my 2 research papers before I leave on my trips or at least get them finished, except for editing.

My lab professor wanted me to work with high school students on Friday afternoon. I told him that I was busy and he would have to find an alternative plan. I think he wants me to open some research plans for them during the time I will be away. I am awaiting his email reply.

I had a lab meeting today. I finished running subjects in the lab except for 3 in the morning. The professor and a couple of grad students are going to get me set up on another experiment for when I get back from my trip.

I take Poncho to the Vet EARLY in the am to have surgery. I am so very nervous about it too. I will be busy conducting experiments from 8-10am, then I have a class after that. Then, I tutor 2 students that will end at 2pm. That is when I will be able to call to see how Poncho is doing. I have a 3 hour class at 6pm. The good thing is that I got my forensic psychology paper written for my CJ424 class. This weekend I plan to start my research paper on Clarence Thomas. I am trying to get as much done before my trip as possible as things will be totally gearing up when I get back. I don't want to have to worry about much while I am gone. I leave Wednesday morning with my DH. He will be taking the boys to his parents' house on Monday so they can babysit. I think it will be so difficult sleeping without them for almost a week. We all like to snuggle. :D

Had a wonderful day! The boys all enjoyed walking and hiking out in the woods and around the cliffs. They found a place behind the house they could climb up the cliffs and come back up; so looks like we have " another path".
Did a fire in the firepit and we cooked hamburgers and hot dogs over it. Fixed some baked beans, and had chips. Toll House cookie bars and FF brownies for dessert. I fixed a pot of vegetable soup also, so DH and I will have that for supper tonight.

DeBora sure hope Poncho did well with his surgery! Have a good vacation next week; we'll miss you!

Poncho went through surgery fine. He seems to be in severe pain. I gave him a pain pill, but he still cannot seem to be able to rest. The 2 incisions are on his chest. He cannot lay down without laying on those incisions. I cannot seem to get him to lay on his side either. It just kills me to see him this way. I wish I did not have to leave him to go to my 3 hour class tonight. The Vet sent his growths off to a pathologist to have them tested to see if they are postive for cancer. We will know in a week to a week and a half.

Cat, you said it all when you said the EYES! It was also the whimpering too. It just killed me to see him in pain. I also ran to the store and got him some Bendryl because I needed it for the trip as well. The Vet said it was good for calming an animal and better than a tanquilizer. Since Poncho has panic attacks when we travel (ever since my wreck when I was on my way to the jail for a tutoring class in 2005) and Jet-Bo because he goes through separation anxiety when I leave him (I do too, lol) she suggested I give them Benedryl to calm them down and it won't hurt their kidneys.

Anyway, I came home from school and Jet-Bo and PONCHO met me with wagging tags at the door! I felt so much better about leaving him. He is now asleep in his regular place under the covers. I think I am suffering way more than he is. lol

Well, I need to get my work done before school starts on Monday and my trip starts in the wee hours of Wednesday.

DH has the boys at his parents' house. They are already spoiling my babies. That makes me feel so much better about leaving them. I had a long, hard day, but it was productive. I learned a new program that I will start to run tomorrow. However, it is new and there are plenty of bugs in it so I am sure tomorrow will be full of surprises. I have another one to learn in the morning. My day will end tomorrow night at 6pm at which time I will start packing. I can NOT wait!!!!! DH will be here in time to come see me at the lab. We are having some problems with a person that lives near us, he has stepped over the line now and threatened me, ( he's an alcoholic) so I've taken steps with the police on him. They are going to talk to him and the county prosecuter may be calling me. And here I thought we lived in enough isolation!!! LOL

Cat, please keep a log of what is said and done by this man. Plus, keep a log of who you talked to police-wise and anyone else in authority. Get names and/or police id numbers. Since you are isolated, you don't want this man taking advantage of the fact others won't be able to hear. You may also need to specifically tell the police that you want to file charges and not just complain. Good luck! I hope everything works out.

Nell, have you tried chamomile tea or putting a heating pad up against you? Another good treatment is exercise and drinking plenty of fluids. Ibuprofen or naproxen can be taken, but not aspirin as it will make your blood thinner. Finally, if they are too bad and nothing else works and you don't have to travel anywhere, make you a hot toddy! :D ;)

Well, I am off to bed as we get up at 3:30am to head off. Today was a difficult day as the professor wanted me to run his 2 programs that still had bugs in them, using subjects. He also wanted me to add Jake's program, which I hadn't even seen and had no clue what it was! Jake's program wouldn't even run as the cursor disappreared and I had to reboot the computers--all while I had subjects waiting. The other two programs didn't save the data appropriately and they call gave error messages. It was so stressful for me. I don't like running subjects until we are all ready. When the professor first heard about Jake's program, he said to go ahead and list slots for Monday. If we can't make the program work, we can just send them off and give them credit. However, tonight he sent me an email (after he received an email stating all the problems that I had) telling me NOT to set appointments. I had to tell him that not only did I already have appointments set up, but I already had them filled! Grrrr! I was so glad that this day was over. Now I can just enjoy my trip. I will share pictures when I get back!

Have a fun and relaxing trip DeBora! I have already filed a 4 page statement with 9 pages of pictures attached~ My camera always goes with me as well as the gun! LOL I got pictures of him appraoching me once and as soon as he saw me with the camera he turned around and left, but I have the pics showing that aslo. I am hoping enough has happened that I can gain a restraining order against him; that is my goal anyway. If it turns out I can't I'll just have to continue calling the sheriff's office on every incident. I am hoping with all this they will see how threatened I already feel by his actions as I know everyone's threat levels are different. I t all boils down to the harassments are steadily getting worse and I want a peaceful stop to them. Thanks for your input!

Hope you get to feeling better soon. It is getting cold outside here and we are starting to feel the coolness in the house. The wedding went really great and was beautiful! The stretch limo took all 14 of the wedding party for an hour ride around town and took us to the riverfront so the couple got some good pictures from the Indiana side with the Louisville downtown sky line in the background. I'm "babysitting" their dogs so at this point I have between all the cats and dogs right now 17! I think I'm overwhelmed! LOL Just keeps me busy!!

Going to go down and let those two out of the pens and take them for potty break while it isn't pouring rain. We are to have up to 2" of rain by tomorrow, ugh!!!

Sweetnell, yes we got out this morning; the creek bed was at the very top and only across the bridge at the end of the road. Thank goodness I was going slow this morning; right in front of me a buck jumped out from the other side of the road. I was able to stop before I hit him and luckily there weren't more following him! That is the closest I've ever come to hitting one.

I have to laugh at the little raccoon; I have relocated more than I even want to think about! LOL

My wrist and everything else, including my black hip, is healing. Every day it is getting a little bit better.

Well, we had to have Jet-Bo put to sleep today. His blood results were very bad in that his kidneys were bad bad bad. I knew they would be as he had all the symptoms of that. We went down to the Vet. DH said his good-byes and then went out to the car as he didn't want to be there when they put in to sleep. I stayed with him while she gave him the injection in his shunt. It was very peaceful in that he went from suffering greatly to totally relaxed. The Vet had offered to see if she could buy him a little time, even though she didn't think she could. I told her that I knew it was time to let go and stop the suffering. I made the right decision. I am glad that tomorrow is my terribly busy day as I need to keep busy.

Well, after dropping this bomb, I need to get going.

I think the whole deal of losing Jet-Bo hit me last night. I have 7 hours of classes on Wednesday. I thought the business would be good, but it wasn't. Poncho is doing better. I would like to cuddle, but he doesn't cuddle like Jet-Bo did. I will deal with it though. Jet-Bo's personality and mine were a good fit. We don't have to worry about the food like we did with Jet-Bo, who was on a special kidney diet. Poncho is enjoying the special treats that we are giving him. Well, I may take a nap before I go to my lab meeting today.

Today has been rough for me, but I knew I was going to take this hard. I think what makes it more difficult is seeing Poncho mope around and his eyes tear up. I have been loving on him as much as possible and giving him treats that he couldn't have before because Jet-Bo couldn't have them. I am still sleeping with the blanky that smells like my baby. I know that will wear off eventually. Tomorrow I have plans to work on the programs that we are using to run subjects in the research lab. Then, I have a research class. I tutor a student at 1pm and then I am free until 6pm at which time I have a 3 hour criminal procedure class. Then, I am free for the weekend. Whoo Hoo! I really need the 2 day break. What is bo-fire? Is that a place to get music? The Rolling Stones are coming to El Paso next Friday. DH told me that he didn't know I liked them when I told him that I wished I could go. I told him that they sing my absolute favorite song, "Paint It Black." He asked me which song that was and I cannot sing it and I cannot even find a partial playing of that song anywhere so he can hear it.

It has been real hectic around here; dealing with the "weird person" (trying to be nice about the loony that has been threatening me). Then we've had coyotes coming around pretty close the last few nights so Ive not been sleeping well because of having to go chase them away.

Finished the wedding and rehearsel CD's for the honeymooners when they come back. I took pictures so made a CD of each for them and made some labels for them and the cases with pictures of them on them. It was a new program I just bought so had to install it and play around with it a while to get it right. I also had all the pictures printed for them and put in an album so they will have those right away. They hired a photographer, but these will be of what she didn't take.

Have also stayed of the computer so I could get some other things done! LOL I made two sets of pillow cases to go with the flannel set I just bought. Made one side of each flannel and the other side percale with colors that go with the set. We use three pillows on each side of the bed and of course with the sets you can never get more than two pillow cases!

I just did a TON of paperwork for work. They assigned me 3 more students so I had to make calls to schedule them. Plus, it appears that one of Poncho's incisions from his surgury is infected. I have to take him in early in the morning to see the Vet. If I can get my surviving dog healed, I think we'll be okay. I cannot wait until my 6-9pm class is over as I am way past ready for the weekend!

As as the "neighbor" (a word I really wouldn't use to describe him!) LOL, but at least its a "nice" word when I could use so many more! LOL I don't think it will resolve; he's an alcoholic and I'm almost sure he must have or had mental problems. He doesn't seem to get along with anyone. Everyone that meets him soon ditches him and just leaves him alone. The biggest problem is he seems to want to blame me for everything and isn't watching his back for the people that are really breaking into his house and doing other weird things on his property. Just a very unstable minded person. All I can do is stay out of his way and carry my gun. I'm in the process of getting a concealed weapons permit as he frightens me with his unstableiness that much that I don't want to be without it if there is a chance of him coming near me. Oh well; I'll just continue to live as peaceful as I can and keep pictures ,and other records of any events in case I need to.

I took Poncho in to the Vet this morning. She put him on anti-biotics, which I knew she would. She was going to give me some anti-inflammitories, but I told her that I had some from Jet-Bo. I didn't throw them out since I knew I could use them for Poncho. Poncho still hasn't eaten since Jet-Bo passed, but he will take treats from me. He isn't moping around anymore, which is good. I got my laundry done and will have to start on my homework. I need to run and get hair dye, but I will wait until I feel like it. I HATE going to town on weekends. Well, back to work!

Poncho still isn't eating. But, as soon his his "Daddy" got here, he played and barked, which is a good sign. I think that losing his uncle and his daddy leaving was too much for him. I am going to call the Vet in the morning to see what she says. Poncho is a follower and has never been able to go outside and play or even eat unless Jet-Bo would do it with him. I think he has never been alone before.

Those pumpkins are soooo cute! Haven't been up too long here, but already been out chasing coyotes this morning! Looks like we are really going to have more often of a problem with them this year unless I hit a couple or they get tired of me out there after them! Nothing like being out in the woods in your PJ's chasing coyotes! LOL

I think we will be staying home today anmd getting some things done around here. Went to Japser yesterday to pick up chicken feed and a few other things. Out farm store had a 20% off sale so I got some things we could use I didn't plan on getting at this time, but might as well take advantage of the sale.

I'm not sure what exactly the sale was on cinnamon sugar, but I usually get a big container for $1.99. but got them for 81 cents each yesterday! DH loves cinnamon toast! I really like the farm store because I can get all the animal feed, farm clothes, canning and some cooking supplies; well they just have a huge variety of items!

Nell, I bet your mom felt just awful about forgetting Audrey's birthday. Tell Audrey to hang in there as far as friends. I never made extrememly close friends until I was an adult. I made friends, but none of them compared to the ones I had when I have been grown.

Cat, I am glad that you are going to be able to stay home today.

I talked to DH about getting Poncho some new food since he used to only eat if Jet-Bo ate and the food might remind him of Jet-Bo. That did the trick. Poncho has been eating and even played with DH. DH is packed and ready to go back to Carlsbad. Poncho is already pouting. We'll see how he does over the next few days. I am struggling with this exam. It is all about various precedent court cases dealing with arrest, warrantless arrests, probable cause, detention, frisks, searces, seizures, drug sniffing dogs, and blah, blah, blah. Most of it is very technical about what the cops can and cannot do legally to take away liberty. I have 2 more exams, including this one before finals.

DeBora it make my mom mad that she can't remember alot of things,but she is kinda use to it as she knows she'll get where she can't remember any of us.We all take it one day at a time.Audrey has a lot of freinds it just here ther not much the kids can do as they close down the skating rink other than that there is just the movies but not very often movies that she wants to watch. The young women & young men at church get togather to do things with adults around.They will have a hay ride in Nov.sometimes where they also have hot coca and roast marshmallows. We are uneasy about her hanging out with kids who we don't know or their parents background. I know as she gets older she will have to make her own choices. I do trust her as she has shown good judgement. Cat are you getting to take it easy.How is the kittens bet they are growing!Bil seems to be doing okay,but he has a uncle thats in bad shape so I made have to go stay with mom as this uncle lives off. LOL They are climbing out of the box and the baby cradle and running all over the place. They will be four weeks old the 30th. They have started sniffing the kitten food so I put another small bowl down and added water to some to make it soft for them to try, Haven't actually seen them eat any yet. Organizing my pantry "extras" that I've been buying for winter. Making a list so I will know what I have in the back of the pantry in the case boxes and now will only have to buy what I really know I need. Last December we got snowed in for almost two weeks and that was early for us so trying to get all those "winter" things done by the first of December.

Poncho is still doing well, eating, and playing. Yesterday was a bad day as my professor in the lab where I work, jumps on my case if I don't do something and then turns around and jumps on my case if I do. I finally went to the lab manager, mostly to talk, and asked him what I should do as I felt between a rock and a hard spot. I told him that I didn't mind talking to him myself if he thought it would do any good otherwise, I can let things roll off my back. Another guy I work with came by and said that they all understood and he thought it was best to let things roll off. So, we shall see what we will do. Well, I am skipping class this morning as we are doing nothing. I need to study for my exam for criminal procedure and go to the store. I have 2 back to back 3 hour classes and I need this morning.

Nell, I know what you mean. I was a bit over-protective when mine were living at home and younger. I had gone through some mighty bad things at the babysitter's when I was little, so I didn't dare trust just anyone with my most valuable gifts, my children. I am glad I was that way. I allowed them to go off, but only after I talked to and most likely, met the parents. I felt that even though my DD was capable of making decisions and the right ones, I still thought it was up to me to not put her in a position to have to make them, if at all possible.

DeBora I went through some things when I was younger so I guess I may be extra careful in what type of places dd is in,but unlike me dd has been warn and taught in what to do if she finds herself in aplace she doesn't feel safe in. Thats one of the reason we put her in karate so she can defend herself so she has to and also it has taught her a lot of self control as she can have a bad temper. But since shes been in karate if she feels like she getting real mad she'll walk away if she can and if not if she has to she'll hit a wall.

I posted a recipe for spaetzle somewhere, but I've lost track of where! LOL I have a couple different ones, but they are all basically the same. Here is one of them.


Spaetzle

2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk

Stir together the flour and salt. Combine eggs and milk and stir into the flour mixture. Pour the batter into a strainer and push through into a saucepan or pot of boiling, salted water. Take care to let the extruded pieces of Spaetzle fall into the slightly bubbling water and let them cook for approximately 2 to 3 minutes. Spaetzle swimming on the surface are usually cooked and may be gathered with a large slotted spoon, drained and placed into a serving dish. Stir in some melted margarine to keep the Spaetzle from sticking together and garnish with some bread crumbs. Makes about 4 cups.Serve with nearly any meat dish. Spätzle is great with gravy, sauces or just plain.


Sweetnell, hope it all works out for Audrey to go to the party. I understand how hard it is having gone through things when I was younger too that I wish I never had too, and would and did do anything to prevent my kids from gping through such things.

Cat I glad you got so much done. I really need to go through our can food and rotate them. We also need to stock up on more food to keep back also some other items. We try to get a year supply up or at least six months because you will never know what will happen that you might need it. Around 11 years ago dh had cancer and was unable to work for about 4 months so it came in handy.
Audrey told me some of the other parents are going to stay at the party so I might to I'll wait and see Saturday.She also said its more girls than boys that have been invited. Hope you are having a good night.

Sweetnell, I try to rotate my can goods on the shelves as I buy them, cereal and such also. When I start buying ahead for the winter the only place to put the stuff is on the floor of the pantry and every year I end up having to organize that stuff late after I have the buik of it bought. Wish I could come up with a way to do it as I buy it, but till I have it all in it is difficult to do without having the quantity all here! LOL Here I thought when we built a 8 x 10 walk in pantry with shelves 10 foot high I would have enough room! LOL DH always told me it didn't matter how much space I have, I'll fill it! LOL

Thanks Nell. I hope everyone else is having a good day and have a great weekend. I got a poem and a paw print of Jet-Bo's from the Vet. I changed my avitar to Jet-Bo's paw print. It is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. Poncho gets down at times and we are able to play with him and pick him up. I finished my exam. I will learn next week how I did. I week from Wednesday I will have an exam in Forensic Law by the same teacher.

Sweetnell, got my oil change done yesterday in Corydon, so did some shopping we needed to do while we were there. Went out for breakfast at Cracker barrel (DH can substitute foods there he can eat!), and as usual I brought half mine home! LOL I also always give the boys for Christmas and their "others" a gift certificate to their favorite store as well as a box of things I've picked up through the year at a good price. So while we were in Cracker Barrel I decide to make their gift certificates this year party from Cracker Barrel. They can either have a meal out together or buy something in the store there. I thought it would make a nice change for them instead of what I always get. Might surprise them some! LOL

Relax? LOL Even though we always seem busy we do really relax a bit every day. Staying up here on our hill and not having to deal with anyone really is relaxing; it is only a problem with the "weirdo" when I go down to the road; so I avoid that as much as I can, which most of the times works. He has to go out to work and I don't so I keep telling myself I have the upper hand on that because I can usually do what I need to while he's gone! LOL And then when I do go down I don't go without carrying my gun; since he is an alcoholic and acts so strange I don't trust what he may decide to do one day. I leave DH up at the house when something has to be done down there because with his brain injury I never know how he might react to me being threatened or worse. That is one of the bad things about his brain injury; he lost the "knowing" how to and when to react to things. He may just pop off his mouth unapproriately or worse. So I don't put him in a atomsphere where that could happen if I can avoid it.
Sweetnell; is this the weekend Audrey has the party to go too? Hope it goes well.

Audrey has decided not to go to this one girls party after all as she says they are not as close this year. But the spanish culb is having a party at the school tonight that she say something about going to. It cost 5 dollars to get in but they are having food from one of the mexican resturant there so we"ll see.

Picked up a couple of picture frames that will make a couple of nice trays. I attached some handles to the sides and now all I have to do is pick out a cross stitch pattern to make and put under the glass, cute trays I made and not nearly the cost of buying the "trays" they sell for that purpose! I only pais $2.50 for each frame at the thrift store!

Making some unstuffed pepper oup for supper right now so when we get hungry later supper will be ready. DH is puttering around down in his workshop today. I've gone down a couple times and checked on him, but try to leave him alone too much otherwise he figures out I'm checking on him! LOL

He hasn't been doing any table saw work so everything else is usually pretty safe; note I said usually! LOL

Then tell him that (on a day when you were gone) that if he is asked to say that he saw you home on that day. LOL Or, you could look to your left or right and talk to an invisible person. Nell, I hope your DD has fun if she goes to the party tonight. She sounds so level-headed to know what she wants to do and not to go to party out of peer pressure.

We got a puppy this morning after breakfast. It is a cream-colored or light brown colored chihuahua. We played around with names until I finally decided to name him Labonte, but we are going to call him Bonte. (Difficult decision for me, huh?) lol Poncho LOVED him at first, but now the newness has worn off. I also have asked for an Urn Charm for Christmas or whenever we can afford it. Here (http://www.evrmemories.com/petcremationjewelry.htm) is an example of what I am talking about. Tuesday I should get Jet-Bo's ashes back. Anyway, I talked to my DGD today who understands that Jet-Bo is gone. I asked her what we should name the new puppy. She said, "Water." LOL She must have been thirsty! Well, I had better get back to school work.

DeBora enjoy your new puppy , they are so much fun to watch and so eager to be loved on. Cat when you make the trays out of picture frames do you have to reinforce the back? that sounds neat though and different. Audrey did not go to the school party as it started at 1 and ended at 5 ,she gave me the inivation to me at 3 LOl. We did go to town to get a few things though. Have a good night ladies! When I actually get the cross stitch pattern done I pick I will adhere it to a "sticky board" you buy to mount cross stitch frame pieces on. It is very rigid, but I will also add some extra cardboard behind that and then put a solid piece of wood on the very back of the frame. It is a nice tray for serving drinks on, or just setting on an ottoman for placing my tea or coffee on. And it looks pretty just sitting around. Something to help the time pass;LOL

Sorry Audrey didn't get to go to the party; but sounds like you two had a good time though going shopping! We plan on staying home today an doing more around here.

It is good that you do not cross you DH either! lol I am trying to put some light on your situation as much as possible. If anyone wants information about what your frontal lobe does, I will be glad to explain in simple terms. Otherwise, I will leave it alone. Cat, you have my email if you want to talk. I am a talkative person, so I understand the need to talk things out if you need to talk. I also know that you and I have similar personalities. LOL

Nell, I hope your headache is gone. If I am going to have a headache, this is the time to have one as I see my pain specialist on the 9th. My nerve block last between 9-12 months. It take 1-2 months to make an appointment to get another nerve block and I see him every 2 months. It is better for me to make the appointment to have the nerve block approximately 1-2 months before I have the procedure. This will be perfect for me to talk to him. He says that since we are such good buddies that I can call anytime, for any reason. However, his staff doesn't know this. lol

Well, I have a consent form and other stuff that we have to prove tomorrow in class BEFORE we can conduct the actual experiment coming through my email. Bonte is SO energetic. I think he is fitting in well! lol Poncho growled at Jet-Bo when he wanted to play, so he is acting no different. LOL I am glad that his personality and color and personality doesn't blend with Jet-Bo's. We do not accidently call him by anything but Bonte. Plus, today during the race when I was YELLING at Bobby, he wasn't confused with me yelling at Bobby. LOL

DeBora it has been a learning experience for me since the accident 6 years ago. He had to have speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy all three times a week. He only recognized two people and I was not one of them. So we have "reintroduced" ourselves and even though we have been married for 33 years , it is like a new relationship of only a few years. To this day he does not "remember us being married,or our our two boys. I was very lucky that with his "new personality" he is very acceptable of what he has been told and relearned. We just make the best of it. But I can no longer "know" how he will react to things, situations, or even people. And of course him being larger than me he has much more strength than I do. Luckily it has not been a probelm. Since you are in the field you are; I know you have a very good idea of what it is like to live with someone that has had a brain injury of this sorts. Thanks!

Sweetnell, it is actually 75 degress outside, but very windy! A cold front is coming in and we are to cool down to downright cold weather by morning and lots more rain!

My professor in the lab is back from his trip (convention) and we had problems in the lab, again! Grrrrr!!! The Vet called me today and said that Jet-Bo's ashes were in. I went and picked those us as soon as I got out of school. It was so difficult as reality really set in. It came with a certificate of when he was cremated and by whom. I went to the store and got the fixins for chili. I didn't realize until I got home and settled for the evening that I have no butter. If I get up in time, I will get some on the way to school to have cornbread with butter along with the chili. I am just now getting caught up with my emails. Little Bonte is just making himself at home. He is like Jet-Bo in the sense that he likes to cuddle and playful. However, his coloring is vastly different. Jet-Bo was jet black and Bonte is light brown or cream colored. As soon as I finish taking pictures, I will post them for all to see. Take care!

Thanks DeBora! It was difficult at first, but then again I was so over whelmed with everything that happened so fast and the first 8 days they didn't think he would even survive that it must have helped me learn very quickly to deal with it all. I guess the beginning being so touch and go made me realize I could handle the rest of what was to come. It actually made all that easier to deal with I guess.

Raining here again today; ugh! So got all the animals outside done for the morning before it started bad; will probably have to get out the raingear this afternoon to do those rounds. Been working on some of those Christmas crafts I need to finish so they can be delivered soon.

Sounds like everyone had a relaxing evening. I had some homemade chili and cornbread for dinner. For lunch, I made myself some Frito Pie, which was oh so good! Bonte FINALLY pooped out. lol I got some really cute pictures of him too. I tried to reach for the camera in time to get a picture of him before his stuffed animal's tail fell out of his mouth, but by the time I got it, he spit it out in his sleep. He was playing with the stuffed animal and fell asleep. It was so cute.

Today, I started craving macaroni salad. It has been a long time since I had some. I am thinking that maybe I should make that this weekend or towards the end of the week along with brats or something similar. I watched Road Trip and that show with the cop on Foodnetwork, and it showed all these Southern foods and now I am homesick. I wonder if DH will be willing to smoke a brisket for thanksgiving? lol Well, back to my exciting paper on Clarence Thomas. lol

Bonte is waking up, which means I may have to run him outside or to the potty paper. lol DH will be here within an hour. I only have about a page left of my final research paper for my Criminal Procedure class. I finished and turned in my forensic psychology paper for Forensic Law class so it is in the hands of Judge Ryan. lol I went to a meeting this afternoon. It was our weekly lab meeting. My professor bucks heads with everyone so I never know whether the meeting will be stressful or not. However, it was a good meeting for me. One grad student asked me a question about my paperwork on a particular participant. He wasn't complaining, just inquiring. Well, the professor jumped to conclusions and told the student, whose research is part of what I do, that the lab have never been more organized than when I came and not to complain. I LOVED it because I actually got a compliment. I felt for the grad student because he really wasn't complaining. But, I will take my compliments any way I can get them. lol Yesterday the professor and I went back and forth via emails about 2 projects and he wanted to know why one was getting good results and one was not. I explained what I had noticed about the programs and thought he would just let it go in one ear and out the other. Well, he asked the other grad student whose program is very much like his but is successful and wants to run through it himself. He told the student that I stated that his was different so he wants to see it himself. So, I felt so much stress off me.

This weekend is the big Texas race that I would kill to be able to attend. My DS, who lives in Fort Worth is going to go. I told him to take pictures for his momma. Terry, Bobby's brother is retiring and this will be his very last race. There will be a lot of pomp and circumstance over it since Terry is a 2 time champion. This will also be Bobby's last race with his brother. So, I will be watching eagerly. Well, I had better go for some food. Stress makes me hungry.

My yongest DS is home sick, they thought it was pneumonia, but turned out not to be. I needed to make study note cards but I was soooo exhausted last night that I just decided to goof off. lol Judge Ryan said that I could conduct my experiment in both classes that I have with him. So, I will do that on Wednesday and Friday of next week. I just need to find a way to get the information for 60-80 students before Monday and Wednesday.

Well, after catching up on posts and emails, I am going back to bed. I would rather be in Texas at the race track watching Terry's retirement. (You can go to Nascar.com to see what I am talking about or even Jayski.com) This will be Bobby's last race with his brother, Terry. My DS has tickets to go to the race and I am jealous! As of Monday it looks like Audrey will no longer be in danceline as she failed math ,maybe one other class. The teacher of danceline told the girls that they were allowed only two six weeks instead of the three that was in the paper that the girls and parents had to sign when the girls first made danceline but I don't see any sense in throwing a fit abot it as I know Audrey tryed her hardest to get the grades up. But there is one woman I afraid will cause trouble because she will be upset if Audrey gets hit off.I just hope she drops it. Have agoodnight ladies!

Thursday I have to sign up for classes for the spring. (I have to have 10 credits total). I know that I have to take "Psychology and the Law" (credits) and I want to re-take "Psycholgical Lab" (3 credits) but I need one other class. I am planning to call the forenic psychologist that teaches Psychology and the Law and see if he will accept me for "Field Experience." If I can get in that, I will still need one more class. I will be honest in that I want something easy on the brain! I want a free ride for just one class! lol

Nell, again, tell Audrey to hang in there. She will be a grown-up way longer than she will be a child. I think she is well on her way to a happy and successful adult life. Also, I know what it is to be different. It wasn't until recently that I discovered that I was excentric. That just means that she is smart and that she doesn't care what others think (in a nut shell). Tell her to email me anytime if she wants to talk. Tell her there is a teen lurking inside me and I am willing to "parent or teacher bash" and not tell. lol

Wow, its been a whirlwind the last couple of days here! Went and saw both DS's and both are starting to feel better. Now my DIL has it! (Still hope we didn;t bring it home with us!)

Spent the morning splitting some wood and we n longer got done and it stared raining. Wasn't supposed top start till tomorrow. We have to go tomorrow and pick up a lumber order w had cut at he sawmill. Looks like we will be wearing our raincoats! LOL

Hello Ladies! well good and bad news on the danceline front, Audrey is still on it but she cannot fail any classes the rest of this year. She pass all but math class which she had got up to a 60 from a 45 but she was sick last week so she had to miss math class one day which keep her from getting extra pionts that could have help her to pass. It has been cloudy and cool here all day still might rain tonight. Cat here it is funny because they have dh voting at one place on the other hand ds and I vote at the school close to our house! LOL We have told the people about it but they have yet to change it! Hoipe you and dh have a safe trip when you go vote.

Today was busy. We started our research project. It is about racial affiliation and how other interpret a person associated with White pride verson someone who is associated with Black pride. We handed out stories at random to students. All the stories were exactly the same except for the bumper sticker. It was an assault and battery and the defendant was seen fleeing from the crime scene area. In one story his bumper sticker displayed, "Whote pride." In another the bumper sticker displays, "Black Pride." In the final control story, the bumper sticker is in discernable. These stories were randomly handed out and everyone thought they had been given the exact same story. They handed down a verdict of guiltly or not-guilty based on the information. The victim is in a vegatative state and cannot testify as to the accuser. We did not disclose either the victim or the defendant's race. The interesting part, is even though we have only obtained information from about 30 students the results thus far are interesting. We thought that the White pride defendant would get the higher than normal rate of guilty votes. However, both the White pride and the indiscernable defendant had about a 30% guilty ratio. Not one person voted guilty for the Black pride defendant. We also think that even though people will think worse about the person who is associated with White pride, people with other pride affiliations could be just as dangerous for society. We find it interesting that not one student stated that the Black pride defendant was guilty.

Well, dinner is almost done. DH wanted balsamic chicken tonight. I hope all have a wonderful evening. I have an exam in forensic law on Wednesday, so I'd better finish catching up and study.

Since DH will be leaving today, I will need to go early to school to get a decent parking space. I have 2 hours of tutoring and then 4 hours in the research lab. If my professor isn't around, we get a lot of work done AND we enjoy being around each other. I like the people I wok with. I am the only one who deals with the behavioral science lab. Every one else is working with data that has been collected from various brain research. It is funny to see all the styrofoam heads in the lab with all the labels dots all over them. lol I guess it is so that the students entering or analyzing data have something for reference. Well, I am getting hungry too.

Getting ready to go to DH's doctor appointment up in Bloomington. Going early because it is 1 1/2 hours away from here and I don;t know what we will encounter on the roads up there (it's all back roads from here); so will end up a little early,but better than late! LOL

Nell, I won't be able to get my injection until another month. But, I do have some meds that I can take as long as I don't have any difficult work to do, which most of that is behind me. This doctor is the best in his field, so there is a waiting list, even though I have a little report with him and he speeds things up a bit for me. I like the picture idea. Let me know how it turns out!

DeBora the more I think of differ places in town the more places I come up with so trying to decide to which one to pick LOL! Like we have a train station that was restored even though no trains actally stop there anymore its a very pretty old building,also theres the old courthouse that was just restore and some old two story homes that are use for special events.One of our necies got married at one of the houses. It would give all of you a idea of what Paris looks like and of course us!

Doctor visit went okay; just more waiting for results. We should know more in about another week. Then maybe another biopsy; not sure yet.

I just got home from school. Judge Ryan let us go as soon as we finished our exam, which a Aced, by the way! I just wanted to pop in a say good night. I have to leave very early in the morning for my doctor's appointment in case White Sands Missile Range closes the road and I have to take an alternate route. I will get the script for the procedure and meds then.

Did anyone get to watch Mars cross the sun today? I happen to live in the same town as the guy who discovered Pluto and invented the telescope that allows ppl to view the sun. It was way cool looking at the sun. (Clyde Tombaugh (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clyde_Tombaugh)) He also retired as a professor here at the university that I attend. One of the telescopes was his original that he invented and used before they modernized it. Anyway, I saw a little thing on the sun that looked like a tiny squashed bug. That was a sunspot. Then, right in the middle of the sun, as Mercury was halfway through passing the sun, was a tiny little black, perfectly round dot. that was Mercury. It was way cool! I am attaching a picture of similar to what I saw today, except I saw the entire Sun and I saw a sunspot, which isn't in this picture.

Oh, I didn't know about it or we probably could have tried. We have a huge telescope the boys got when they were little, but never got to use it much in the city; just too many city lights! Out here it works great! As long as we get it set up before dark! LOL We want to one day build a small building to enclose it in with a retractable roof so all er have to do is go out to the field and play around with it, but haven't even designed that building yet!

Cat I haven't decided if I want to sign up to cook a turkey for church or not, but we always buy at least one while they are sale and I try to cook it here at the house. Also we may have christmas dinner just for us here at the house this year. My day went fair I woke up with a head cold have been wheezing some today. It seems like I get out of breathe easy today when I move around. Saturday Audrey andI will go shopping for a nice dressy dress for the band banquet that will be held Dec 2, also look for some nice dress shoes. We have 0ne danceline girls mom who has been a little phushy who wants to go shopping Tuesday for Audrey's dress so we hope to get one Saturday as Audrey prefers a modest type dress and we are not sure about this lady. Well, I had a terrible day! If anyone wants the details, go to the Friendship Flower thread since I am getting too sleepy to type it out againg. (I have fallen asleep several times already. LOL DH has the GKs at his parents' house and will be leaving to come back to Carlsbad to work tomorrow evening. I am way past ready for the weekend to arrive!

I got the script for the never block. He said he'll do it between semesters. Now we wait for his secretary to set it up.

I almost forgot, Poncho still seems depressed. While Bonte was playing, I picked Poncho up and loved on him so he wouldn't feel neglected. I told him that I missed Jet-Bo too. He immediately jumped up and ran under the kitchen table and chair (his favorite hiding spot) to hide. I have decided not to mention Jet-Bo again. I bought the guys some flavored rawhide. When I got home BOTH rawhides were on the couch, where Bonte can't get to. lol Poncho is starting to get used to the little guy. I used to be able to grab him with one hand. Now, I need 2 hands in order to grab him. lol

I wondered the same thing! I would defintely go and get it myself, you want Audrey to feel comfortable with the dress SHE picks; have fun shopping for it. That is a mother-daughter thing and should be. Just me mouthing off my opinion! LOL

Sweetnell, my DH and I usually spend the holidays with just each other also. I don't like traveling on the holidays and just enjoy a stay at home day. Since DS 2 is married now they invited us for Thanksgiving dinner and DS1 always asks us also, but we prefer to just stay home. Now the try and make DS2 and his wife understand we appreciate the thought, but want to just stay home. I think DS1 and his live in finally understand that; I think! LOL They all seem to think it is horrible we would prefer to stay at home.
Plus with DH going through these medical tests and the waiting; neither of us are much into a lot of get togethers right now.

DeBora, I know how "interesting" it is for a pet once a "new" one comes into the home. We are still having some "issues" with Rerun the newest cat and the older ones. And now in about 3 weeks I'll be bringing two more into the household! Yep, keeping two of those kittens that were born on my birthday!LOL

Hello Ladies! DeBora hope your day at school goes better. Cat We will more than likely go to dh's parents house Thanksgiving its Christmas that we will opt to stay home. We have so much to do on christmas eve that it would just be nice to stay home and not have to rush to differ places. As for this mother she is just the phushy type who for whatever reason has decided that Audrey need to be more active with other girls her age at school.I guess maybe its because they Audrey doesn't hang out with a bunch of kids outside of school. I think this mother means well but she reminds me of a steam-roller who'll run over you if you don't watch her LOL! Audrey and I are going Saturday to do our shopping so that way maybe she'll already have her dress and shoes so they'll be no reason for the shopping trip Tuesday. Audrey have a couple of dresses on line that we will go to the stores here to check out.Audrey has had a rough time the last few days because of vertern day, as it still hard on her as my dad and her were real close. Okay I guess I got on a roll on talking huh! I hope to get my hair cut at least before we that pictures as for right now it looks messy even when I brush it. Oh I forgot to tell you the towns Christmas parade is also on Dec. 2 We hope she is passing enough to be in it. Have a wonderful day ladies! Good for Audrey! Hope she has a wonderful time at the dance! I had a neighbor one time that was like that woman. I had to finally tell her we could be friends, but only if she left my life alone for me to run! LOL Once I did that she really backed off and we became pretty close friends till we moved out of the town.

Your turkey tag reminded me; we went to English today and I forgot to take my camera! Of course two huge beautiful turkeys were crosing a road and there was a fence along the side and they couldn't get through it~~~ and me with no camera! LOL I have lots of other pics of them here and there, but just hate to miss one! LOL

The one good thing about this woman is she's got a young man that tutor's her daughter in math to work with Audrey also. The young man was schocked that Audrey is a lot better in math than the other girl, as they are on something that dd can understand but there are parts that she has problems with. Anyway things are going well right now.I'm looking forward to tomorrow as I found several shoes that I beleive Audrey will love them.Hope all is well with you.

Will you be able to stay fairly close to home when you go to graduate school?

I don't know. All will depend on who accepts me. I am applying to UTEP in El Paso, which is down the street from where I am now. I am applying to UTPB, which is in Odessa, which is near the GKs and an hour closer than where I am now. However, all the rest are in the Dallas/Fort Worth/Denton area, which is where my DS lives, but is quite bit further away from home. So, I guess time will tell. I should know, depending on when and how well I do on the GRE exam, sometime in the spring in April or May.

Hello ladies! Today went great, Audrey found the perfect dress today.It is along one that would cost over a hunred dollars ,they hay it mark for 70 dollars but we were able to get it for 40 dollars.It was to big but we have a lady that is taking it up for her. It is a strapless type but is high enough that nothing shows even if she bends down. It has a blackband on the top and the rest of the dress is a christmas red. We also were able to find some cute dressy heels that we both like under 20 dollars. We will try to get some real good pictures. I might try to go with her not sure yet. Any we had a great time. Hope everyone else had a good day also.

Cat right now it is 44 alittle cool but dh has a fire going. I have just been looking at differ formal gowns sites and found one similar to Audrey's that cost 137.00 dollars new.Hers looks like new. I can't wait to get some pictures. Dd is so excited about the shoes that she wanted to wear them to her dance tonight with her jeans and the dance was outside LOL.Well I have to pick-up her at the church around 11:00.So ladies have a good night.

45 degrees outside now, the sun is shining and it looks so pretty from inside!LOL I was out for awhile doing some target practice this morning. Not bad as long as you are active, but when I sat down awhile to just enjoy the outdoors it got cold quick!

Have to go to the city tomorrow for a checkup for me so going to make an easy supper tonight. Trying to do forums and other things around the house for the rest of the day. I still have some more laundry to fold and put away also and another load to wash came from somewhere! LOL
