Oh sweetnell, I love bratwurst too! But because of the fat content feel soooo guilty when I eat one! LOL I used to buy them and have them at home, but don't know that more than once a year anymore. I like them fried dark brown and with lots of mustard! So many good tasty foods that are so bad for us! LOL

Good Day Ladies!
Hope your weekend is going well.Dd and I went shopping yesterday to get school clothes,also got shoes. With it being tax free day along with with dh's employee dicount it was helpful in saving money.I had to put it in laway as we don't get pay til this coming week. Cheated on supper as a bought a roasted chicken from the delie I also got potatoe salad to go along with it. We also had baked beans.

Sounds like it was a good supper! The HI kabobs is cute! LOL I haven't fixed any veggie kabobs yet this summer at all! Maybe as soon as it really cools down I can. I like to take yellow squash, zucchini, green onions, cherry tomatoes and anything else that's ready and spear onto the kabob thingys, brush with fat free catalina dressing and grill just till slightly "browned" or blackened I guess you could say....oh okay grilled! LOL

I just heard on the radio yesterday that this weekend at the mall here in Cruces is tax-free. So, I guess Las Cruces does do it like Carlsbad. I wish I had the money right now. I need a couple of professional looking outfits for when I am conducting research at the jail next month.

I have been uninspired as to what to cook or eat for dinner tomorrow. You guys have given me some ideas--if it doesn't rain. I think I will grill or make Ka-Bobs with meat and veggies. Thanks!

I might try to make a chocolate pie for a sweet. Right now I have the house to myself the men have gone to town and dd is gone to a church dance. It sure is nice and quiet! LoL

IT must be nice to have the house to yourself. Now that my kids are grown and especially since I transferred to Las Cruces and live in an RV, I always have the house to myself. lol

We are getting rain too, but we have already had MORE than our share. I can't even watch my comedies and Judge Judy last week on the local channels because they are always having a special on what highways in El Paso are closed, where the low water is in El Paso, Las Cruces, Deming, and a few other areas.

I think tomnight we are going to do French Toast again; I still have some of the thick sliced bread from the other day and I pulled it out of the freezer.

Nell, I don't know what I did either, but aren't having anymore rain either! It is cloudy everywhere around me, except over me. We are still supposed to be getting rain, but we aren't. lol I am not arguing as I would like to go home this weekend. So, if we get anymore, I'll try and send it to you, Nell and Cat lover.

I am very frustrated as Bobby had a blown engine yesterday. He has had several this season as well as several other Dodges who use Everham engines. If I knew I would be arrested, I would go and strangle Ray Everham myself or at least his engine builder. I wish Bobby would go back to either Fords or Chevy's. But, Petty is under contract. I can only wish for next season. Bobby has got to be frustrated. I sent him off a cheerful good luck letter this morning and I emailed him. I hope I was able to send a tiny bit of encouragement his way.

I didn't get as much done as I wanted today. There are these dashes where there should be a zero or a number. I have gone over the program with a fine tooth comb and they will not go away. I have a meeting with Bryan tomorrow and maybe he can figure out what the problem is. The weird part is when I rebooted the computer, some of the dashes were replaced my numbers, but many of them are still there. All I can say is that I hate Macs! Plus, this is new software for me in that it is statistal software for ppl who do research in the social sciences. That's a double wammy. lol

Nell, I forgot, how many kittens do you have?

Catlover our kittens are four weeks old and are getting ready to eat, as soon as they are eating good we have already found homes for all of them. DeBora we have three kitties.Ds is moving out so he will take the girl one with him but is leaving the mother cat for us lol. A famliy at our church will take the two boys. Went to the school to get dd's schele but got to go back tomorrow because its all wrong they didn't put her in dancelineclass at all but she's not the only one they messed up. My mom is having health problems just not sure what's going on . Other than that things are okay. Have a good evenig ladies!

Nope they seem to mess up the schedules every year,I think it may be because they do it through the computer and also theres only like 275 freshman this year lol. But the freshman not the only ones they mess up. I notice we had several new kids that just move in to our school area also so they have to work them in. One thing I notice on dd schedule is the math teacher is only a year older then our son and she lived next door to us when we first move here so for like four years she hang out with our son playing video games alot in our house,I hope dd gets to keep her as a teacher because I think it would be good for her to have someone we know.

Cute puppies! Haven't started much today yet~~ went to get lotto ticket and filled with gas; our one and only station still had it at $3.00 a gallon so even though I hated to I filled; figure it will go higher soon! I dont like to buy it there because they are the only station in town and they are usually 20 to 30 cents a gallon than anywhere else; so because they take advantage of being the only one I try not to give them the business.

Finally have gotten a little rain, not nearly enough; maybe more will come as it is really cloudy; at least maybe the sun will stay behind the clouds and that alone should keep the temp down some!

The kids are going to pick-up something to eat not sure what,but I'll take anything I'm not picky lol. Catlover I don't even want to think about the gas prices they have been bad enough, at they school there was a talk about raising the prices of the lunchs because the cost of getting the food supply brought in may have to send her lunches maybe cheaper and shes been on reduced lunches. She is not hard to please though.

For the brief time that my kids went to public school, they didn't want lunchroom food, they wanted me to pack their lunches. I think it's more fun that way anyway.

Got dd schedule fix today, she got to keep Faith as her math teacher just at a different time.She ended up with up with another teacher we know for world geography. Going to ask dd if she wants to take her lunch some this year. I just want to make sure she eats everyday.Ds would skip eating some days but we thought he was eating,I don't want her to do that.

Glad your DD got her schedule fixed, way back when ( LOL) we had to wait till the first day of school and if that wasn't a mess! I used to skip lunch and buy an apple out of the apple machine we had in the cafeteria; saved the rest of my lunch money for spend money! Of course back then things didnt cost much; I remember we would all pitch in 25 cents for gas and we would run on that all night; and we put some miles on those cars too!

Nell, I am sure you can make those lunches fun. Do you think there are some surprise treats that you could put in her lunches that would make her look forward to the homemade lunches? You could also make her some fruit juice jigglers and use cookie cutters to cut them in cool shapes. They would have no sugar and she would enjoy the treat.

Also, I am glad that your DD got some teachers that she likes.

2 weeks from tomorrow fall semester starts for me. I will not here as much as I have this summer (many times a day). Monday will be the end of summer school. I talked to my professor and he has agreed to write my letters of recommendation to the grad schools of my choice. I just need to talk to 2 more ppl, and they are in Carlsbad. He also told me that since I enjoy research methods so much that I could take Psyc410 and get more research experience. That solves my problem of what to take the in spring. I only will need to take 2 more classes and 1 has to be Psychology and the Law and this research class can be the other one.

DHL was supposed to deliver my computer today, but for some reason, the delivery guy didn't pick it up from El Paso this morning when he picked up the other packages. :mad: So, I talked to DHL and the lady said she will put a priority on it so that it will be delived in the morning since I have a meeting at 1pm.

All I can say is NEVER deal with DHL. That is just my opinion.

DHL called this morning and said that their driver just cannot figure out where my RV within the moblie home park. I told her that it was the 15th RV in the RV section of the mobile home park. Duh! Plus, we have an office with a manager that will be more than happy to give directions if he cannot figure that out. I gave her directions to my RV and told her what color my car is. She also promised the package would be delivered before 1pm when I have a meeting. We will see. Once I get this package, I WILL be firing off an email to DHL as to how FedEx and UPS has no problem finding me. Also, that they need to teach their drivers to not only know the area, but if they are unsure and there is an office or an office manager to ask that person before giving up on the delivery. Grrrr.

Btw, I like the Dr. Pepper can.

Good Morning Ladies! Hope your computer is there before one, that company sounds like they need to train their people to use better judgement when they are out on a delivery. Ds was sick last night he just couldn't keep nothing down so he stayed out here with us instead of town,he's a lot better this morning. Got to do errands before taking dd to pratice,we also have to find her a water gun as they are going to a water gun fight today the freshmen against the rest of the grades. They do this every year. Cue tag; flying toast! LOL With all this heat a water gun fight sounds great! Well we finally got the rain; we were in Jasper today and we thought we we going to get hit with a tornadol The temperature dropped 20 degrees in 15 minutes, the wind nearly blew us down in the parking lot and the sky turned black with very low hanging clouds. Drove home all the way in the storm, and after we were home 30 minutes it stopped. But at least we did get some rain, real cool now; only 73 degrees outside and the window fans are really bringing in the cool air; yeah!!!

Catlover glad to hear you got rain and it cool things down for you. Here it got at 104 degrees so dd had a little bit of a problem with the heat ,she was lucky and didn't pass out but came close.They will take pictures tomorrow. That cat is soooo cute; looks just like one of our "boys" we had to take to the pet store! Still miss those bables! I took a 8 x 10 frame and put a close up of each in the corner and took several of the other hundreds of pics I took of them; cut each "kitten" out and made a large group of those in that frame..... and it's hanging in the mudroom where they grew up so we see it evry time we go in or out!

As for the notifications, when you post on a thread, you subscribe to it and you are sent notifications in your email when someone replies to that thread. You can unsubscribe to that thread if you want as well. Sometimes, something weird happens and a member will suddenly stop getting those notifications whenever someone posts on a thread that she has joined for whatever reason. Does that explain it or have I totally confused you?

Catlover ,I had never heard of freid bannas until I saw the tag.Have you ever try freid pickles? I have once it was different can't explain the taste though.Hope the greenhouse is coming along.

There is a place called "Genny's Diner" in Louisville that has "frickled pickles"; they are basically dill pickles slices dipped into a batter and deep fried and served with Ranch dressing o dip them into. Not bad, if you like deep fried foods~!


I haven't had fried bananas before either;here's a recipe for them from all recipes

Thai Fried Bananas
20 servings.

3/4 cup white rice flour
1/4 cup tapioca flour
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1 1/4 cups water
10 bananas
3 cups oil for frying

In a medium bowl, mix rice flour, tapioca, sugar, salt and coconut. Stir in water, a little at a time, and mix to form a thick batter.
Peel the bananas and cut each lengthwise into 3 or 4 pieces. Heat oil in deep-fryer or deep wok to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Completely coat each banana slice in batter, then fry in hot oil until golden. Drain on paper towels. Serve at once.


I've had the fried plantains before; here's a recipe for them from Food network

Fried Plantains

4 servings as a side dish

2 cups water
3 cloves garlic, smashed
2 teaspoons kosher salt, plus extra for seasoning
1 1/2 cups vegetable or canola oil
2 green plantains

Combine water, garlic and salt in medium size glass bowl and set aside.
In a large (12-inch) saute pan, heat oil to 325 degrees F. Peel plantains and slice crosswise into 1-inch pieces. Carefully add plantains to oil and fry until golden yellow in color, about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes per side. (The oil should come halfway up the side of the plantain). With a spider or slotted spoon, remove the plantains from the pan and place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, standing them on their ends. With the back of a wide, wooden spatula, press each piece of plantain down to half its original size. Then place the plantains in the water and let soak for 1 minute. Remove and pat dry with a tea towel to remove excess water.

Bring oil back up to 325 degrees F and return plantains to pan and cook until golden brown, approximately 2 to 4 minutes per side. Remove to a dish lined with paper towels, and sprinkle with salt, if desired. Serve immediately.

You guys should eat Bananas Foster. It's a New Orleans dish. I am sure that you can get the recipe of the Internet, but I have never cooked Bananas Foster myself or I would offer a recipe myself.

I've had it years ago at a friends house; he gave me the recipe book it was in "The Chiquita Banana Cookbook" Here's the recipe:

Bananas Foster

1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
4 firm ripe bananas, peeled and halved lengthwise
dash nutmeg
1/4 cup banana liqueur
1/2 cup white rum
1 pint French vanilla ice cream

In a shallow flat chafing dish or skillet melt the butter. Srit in brown sugar and cook till bubbly. Arrange banana slices in a single layer and saute turning once till tender; about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with nutmeg and pour in banana liqueur. Warm the rum in small saucepan or deep ladle till steaming. Ignite with long tapered match and pour over the bananas. Remove from heat and baste bananas till flame burns out. Serve immediately. Top each serving with spoonful of soft French vanilla ice cream 4 servings

Okay, now I'm going to have to plan this one night this fall. It would be a good thing to make over the firepit on a cool night!

Nell, thank you. I am waiting for my DGD to go to sleep. She has been grumpy because by the time we got here it was very late. By the time we got the GKs and got them to the motel, it was very, very late. We all had to get up early and she got grumpy early. I want her to take a nap before her party at 5:00 pm, Texas time or she will be impossible to live with. lol

I was awakened at 3:30am because Jet-Bo had the runs and was vomiting. So, there I was babying my baby and cleaning up runny poo so I am beat too. lol I won't be away from the GKs until Tuesday morning. I need to go to school so that I can get a break. lol But, we are having a blast!

Hot here again, 93 degrees right now; humidity is up some. We'll have supper late tonight as we picked up a couple of side salads at yellow arches in Jasper while we were out.

The farm store had 10% off everything you could get in one cart today; should have seen me getting 150 lbs of chicken feed, 50 lbs dog food and 100 lbs of oil dry (I use it for cat litter; 50 lbs for 3.49 minus 10% today) in one cart plus the other stuff I got:eek: . Couldn't hardly move the darn cart!:o

DeBora dd has dance every day after school except on Wedsday and for now on Friday. After the football games start in Sept. she will have a game every week to perform so it depends on how well the team does ,til Nov.,if our team goes to the playoffs then it can run until dec. ,the band also does contest and the dancline is part of that. Also if we can raise the money she and if I want to have a chance to go to Florida,the band and danceline will perform at the Magic Kingdom Park in June. It will be for seven days we have a chance to try to earn money for her but have to pay for mine, we hope we can swing it as I think it would be great for both of us it is also around my birthday. It will keep her busy thats for sure.Glad dgd had a good party.

Sweetnell, oh that Disney trip would be fun! Back in 93 my oldest DS and his gitrlfriend got to go do that. She was in the band and he was a band "aid"; so he qualified to be able to go with her. He did all the run around for the band director and helped load and unload equipment for the band when they went anywhere to perform. Parents weren't invited; just school personnel got to go with them. Hope you get to go!

DeBora, glad the party turned out fun and Jet-Bo is doing better.

I have to make a return visit to Jasper today; the CD/alarm clock/radio we bought sounds lousy; so I'm not keeping it. It's raining here at home so wouldn't be able to work outside anyway so off we go again.

I'm guessing that because of the fact that some of the kids are only 14 that in order to make the parents feel better they allow us the chance to go if we want to. Shopping trip turned out okay; got the things returned with no problem. Got DH suit for the wedding in October and found a white shirt he needed; they are renting the ties from the place DS is getting his tux so all the ties will match.

Went to the thrift store while I was there and got some bargins. Got 12 rolls of cross stitch material orginally marked $4.00 and up for $1.50 each; full rolls and some Irish linen to cross stitch also! Find a winter shirt for me for $2.00; I just love thrift store shopping!

Rain didn't last here long and it got hot, so waiting for it to get cool here tonight. Have a good day!

307Catlover here the recipe dd and I use hope you like it:
buttermilk Pie
3eggs 1/2c. buttermilk
1/2stick butter,melted 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sugar 1 unbaked pie shell
beat eggs;add all the other ingredients.Mix well.Pour in pie shell and bake for 1 hour at 350.

Let me know if you try it and if you like it.

We are finally having some cooler weather at night and the humidity isn't as bad during the day. We are actually turning the fans off before we go to bed! Right now at 9:25 am it is 68 degrees outside and 74 degrees inside, not bad at all! I think later this week it is supposed to get hot again, but here in the woods a long as it cools so much at night it doesn't get real bad during the day either.


Need to snap some green beans I picked yesterday in the garden and get them in the crockpot, probably will have mashed taters with them and i hve enough goodies to make a large tossed salad also. That will probably be the extent of supper tonight.

Well its been decided that dd will go on the trip without me as we can't afford both of us to go ,but some freinds from church are going with their son whose in band and they will watch out for dd. Also the teacher who is over danceline is very protected of her girls so I know she'll that care of our dd. I am a little disappointed that I can't go but am thrilled that dd has this chance to go as she will really enjoy it.

Oh sorry you won't be able to go, but like you said at least your dd will get to go! I know my DS had lots of fun when he went back then; that was the only time he has ever been to to Disney since he was 18 months old so he enjoyed it! I guess the kids really probably have more fun with their friends anyway, just tell her to take plenty of pics for you! My DS won't hardly use a camera! His girlfriend at the time took bunches, but I never got to see them!

DH is cutting the wood for me;I've already marked it so it will be fun putting this up on that roof~ the front portion is way up there because the back is at 7 feet so he can get in the greenhouse too. The roof slants back from the top windows in the front so all the rain will go off the back. I'm putting up a gutter that will run into a 55 gallon plactic container to use the rainwater as watering for the plants in the greenhouse. Just don't know how well anything will actually grtow and produce this year as it is almost a month past when they should have been started. If noithing else I can get organized in there for next spring. I have to move most of my stuff from my potting bench next to the barn. I'll have to use the power wagon because the greenhouse is about 300 feet from the barn.

Thanks Nell. I was awakened way too early this morning. I got a call at 6am and nobody was on the other line. Then, 45 minutes later a student--kind of like friend called me. She wanted to know if I was going to be up at the school this morning. I told her no because my first class didn't start until 10:30am. Anyway, I called the first number back and it is a motel in Carlsbad. The motel clerk, which had a thick accent, said sorry and then hung up! Grrrrr! Last night, my DH said this guy who looked familiar said his truck is broke down and he needed a ride to the store. I told him that I hoped it wasn't who I thought it was because he used to live in Carlsbad. One of the teachers gave him my phone number and email address. He was very nice, but would not leave me alone. He leaches onto ppl and I don't want ppl coming over when I am half decent and studying. I told DH that if it is him, he will want to come over when they get back and you tell him that I am not dressed. Guess what? It IS him and he DID want to come in! I do not know what I am going to do! It is easy to be mean to ppl who cross boundaries and are jerks. It is not so easy when they are nice and friendly. I will handle this, I just dread it. lol Anyway, I just wanted to rant.

Cat, I have been open and honest with this man before. Some ppl with certain disorders either don't get it or don't care. I had one woman one time who had Borderline Personality Disorder. She kept coming to my house. No matter how rude or ugly I was to her, no matter the big sign on the door telling ppl NOT to knock or ring the doorbell, she still would come over. It wasn't until I ignored her that she stopped. Different ppl have to be handled differently. I think this man just lacks social skills.

Btw, what is English? A town?

We got to class and everyone was given the wrong textbook. So, our homework will be postponed until we can get the textbook. The bookstore does not and will not get it, so I had to order it online. I then let the professor know about it. Boy, I really hate the first week of school. I have a meeting tomorrow too. I think I am looking forward to race Sunday!

English is the closest town to us ( 10 miles one way) and the county seat; so all our "local government " is there. That is the little town where we have 1 grocery, 1 drugstore, 1 gas station, 1 funeral home, and a dollar general store; that's it except for two local restaurants. Nothing national to eat at at all Our whole county has around 10,000 people in it.We have no traffic lights in the whole town; in fact you have to go two towns away just to get a caution light and the town after that for a red light! LOL But I love the rural living!

We had lots of rain during the night and rain off and on today; storms too! All I need to do is reglaze some of the windows in the greenhouse and then get all those windows finished primed and painted before winter. Nell, I wished I had a DS who could fo things on my computer! I wished I lived closed to my SIL because he has an IQ of 178 and can do anything!

I did something today; I added another class, making my total credits to 16! I know I will hate myself later, but I will appear so good to the grad schools when I apply in the late fall. I will get on the ground floor doing research on a deeper level. Also, I got fed up with my group in my other research class. After they came up with an idea and got approval from the proffesor, they decided to change it. None of the members of the group care about science or research. So, I talked to the professor and I will be the only member of my own group. So, now I have to come up with an idea for a correlational study for myself. For a day that I only have 1 class, it was long! lol

Well, I have a ton of homework, so I'd better go!

Nell, thank you very much. This one research class is driving me crazy. It is disorganized. They made us order a different textbook because the teacher's assistant (TA) said the bookstore made a mistake. After many students ordered the books online the class was told nevermind, it wasn't the bookstore (which I discovered and pointed out) and we were told we wouldn't be using the new textbook afterall! So, I am out almost $19 of a non-refundable book!

Also, we found out that the book listed for the SPSS (statistical analysis software how-to book) was for the wrong version! So, we were told that it wouldn't make a difference since both versions are similar. Thank God that is another book that I don't have to buy--again!

Also, I emailed the TA yesterday at noon and told her that the IRB (ethics) form is not available to undergrads. I asked her how else we could obtain that form? I still haven't heard from her about that. We are supposed to turn in a completed form tomorrow!

I don't deal well with disorganized ppl, especially when their disorganization costs me time and money. I don't know if it is the professor or the TA. It doesn't matter to me as the professor is in the room when all this is being hashed out.


I was in a group in which we made a decision on Friday what we would do in a correlational study and got it approved by the professor. Now, the group and decided they didn't want to do that afterall and changed it. None of them wanted to stay and ask the professor for his approval. That would put our group behind by 2 class periods. None of them are into research and do not realize how compliated it will be to design and analize the data in a database. I talked to the professor and he said I could go it alone in my own group, so I will. None of the girls wanted to listen to me as there is one know-it-all. However, last night I started getting emails asking me what we are supposed to do for homework. It is complicated and difficult. I have already forwarned them about the textbook to save them money and gave them some pointers on the test that is required to be taken before any experiments on humans. I decided that they cannot decide when they want to appreciate me and when they don't want to appreciate me. So, I am not answering the email. I will tell the group tomorrow that I am no longer in their group.

Sweetnell, been an unexpected busy day! We went to Jasper and got lumber for the winter projects ( hope it is enough!). Neither of us felt real well today so decided to take a day off and just get supplies. I think we've both been pushing too hard in the heat we had.

The car deal seems to be back on track. Now just waiting for the paperwork that is supposed to be sent in the mail; just hope SOMEBODY does their job without me having to make more phone calls.

Got a pkg. today with some of the carport parts that weren't put on the last one we had installed. Had to contact the BBB to get it done, but that worked; thank goodness! Seems to be soapbox night! LOL

Debora dd is doing okay so far in school, danceline has been tough as some of the girls don't like who she hangs out with she talk about quiting but decided to hang in there. All the girls get to perform this pep-rally which is their first Friday,plus the first football game that night which is a off game so I'll not get a chance to see it maybe next week which is a home game.
This week seems to be better so far,had a rough week last week. Still worry about mom but leaving it in gods hands. Trying not to dwell on things I can't do anything about. Hope you have a goodnight!

Yes Cat, I am exhausted already. I spent 12 hours doing homework yesterday because the TA couldn't get straight which textbook we were going to use and then she had to list what the homework would be in that book. Today I have a 1 hour class and then 2 3-hour classes. One of the 3-hour classes is community psych, which I know nothing about who will be teaching it. It could be another nightmare and it could be a blessing. The last class, from 6-9pm is Forensics. I have already met and LOVE that teacher. He is a retired Judge with an outstanding personality. By 9pm, I will be exhausted as I am not night person.

I got to school early to print out material for class. So, here I am catching up on posts and emails. I hope everyone else's hump day goes well.

I made DH a chocolate cake like that today for his BD! I let him splurge on his diet some tonight. Made him grilled steak (4 oz), corn on the cob, baked potato, and garden salad. The cake and homemade FF vanilla ice cream for dessert!

Today went well! The TA is still very disorganized and after I talked to a grad student and a professor, come to find out she is always like that. I will just deal with it and put my complaints in writing when evaluation time rolls around. I only paid $19 for my textbook. Today a student said she paid nearly $100 for hers. Anyway, I got my experiment approved and the only thing I have left to do it write a proposal. Community psych is going to be interesting, but nothing too painful. Forensics is going to be a blast! It will be difficult with a lot of quizzes, exams, and papers. However, the material is interesting and I see how it will be what I will need to know in my career. I thought this teacher was a retired judge and come to find out he has an office in the public defender's office. So, I don't know whether or not he was a judge and now he is something else or what. I do know he was or is a judge.

Well, I also have a ton of studying and homework to do, so I'd better finish up here and get with it.

That little mouse naptime is sure cute! At one time I had a pet rat and DS's both raisedmice as food for all their snakes; so I'm weird, but I think they ae cute! LOL

Have to go somewhere today and get a large outdoor metal trash can for some more chicken feed. Trying to get eerything done for winter as far as all the animals go..... so I don't feel bad once the cold hits at least they will be all ready!

Today there was a protest at my university concerning the change in opinion of Pluto's status as a planet. I wish I had a camera because of the signs. One sign wasn't too interesting. Good Morning Ladies! Hope tour day is going well.Dd got in around 12:45 but ds took us out to eat so it was around two when we got home. Had a rough night as I think I'm coming down with a bad cold so I don't feel so good. My sil and her girls are to come in today so everyone will meet to eat at TaMolleys resturant a mexican food place.One of my sils girls is twelve days older then my dd and they are very close.Wish they lived closer togather so they could hang out more. Nell, I hope you get to feeling better. I need to make some silver today as several at school have colds. My DH calls me a germ-a-phobe, but I am actually only phobic to the germs that can make me ill. lol

DH came on Friday. I told him that my clingy neighbor will be over once he is here as he knows I won't even answer the door. Sure enough, he was pounding on our door at 8:30am! He wanted a ride to the store. Since DH was taking me out to breakfast, I went along. This guys asked my hubby for a ride back to Carlsbad tonight! Hubby agreed. I told this guy that he had better NOT have any marijuana on him! I told him that if my DH gets arrested because he has pot on him, I WILL make sure his life is miserable. He promised that he won't have any pot on him and then got quiet! (DH thought it was funny.) He wants me to feed, water, and let his dog out while he is gone for a few days. I told him I was too busy and he just doesn't get it. He doesn't take no for an answer. We don't understand why he won't be back until Wednesday? He can pick his truck up tomorrow or Tuesday if they are closed and then be back on Tuesday at the latest. So, he is going to have to get somebody else to tend to his dog. If I agree to help him out once, I will forever be helping him as he has NO boundaries. Well, I will get off my soapbox.

Well, I'd better catch up on posts and get back to my homework. I like to get everything done before race time. lol

Awwww... the kitten on the right looks almost like we we had to give away~ oh... she's going to have more kittens! I am going to finish checking a few posts and then back to school work. My "stalker" won't be back until Wednesday. I do not know how he is going to get away with missing so much school. He moved here because the mean ol teachers in Carlsbad kept failing him. I think he is going to find that they are much harder here in Cruces. He will not knock on my door while I am home alone. I even warned my DH that he would be over as soon as he saw his car. I told this guy that I do not answer my door when I am home. DH thought I was aggerating about this guy. Now he realizes that I didn't play him up enough! lol

I am going to have to tell this guy that my DH can not give him rides when he asks again since my DH cannot say no, but wants to. I'll just tell him that my time with my DH is very limited and that we don't want to be disturbed.

It is cold and wet today. I am going to make a pot of chili with black soy beans today. It sounds so good.

Hello! Everything went well except we came home with a CAT! LOL One of the kittens got returned to the pet store. They said an elderly lady said she bit and was mean! Well she's a kitten and does knaw on your fingers if you let her. But when I saw her bcvk in the pet store I couldn't leave her there! She was the one we liked the most as far as her colors; so now we have four cats inside! I brought her mom into the mudroom today as she is either further along than I thought or she's having more or bigger kittens this time. So now I feel like the cat lady! LOL

Catlover to me its like more the cats the better.hehe We got the three adults one that is 1year old male,two a male and the mommy cat that are 2years old ,then of course one female and one male kitten that are around 9week old. I'm sorry to said we lost the runt he just had to much wrong with him he was also blind. My dh bury him Sunday as I was just to upset as I had gotten very attached to the little fella. Cat, I do not have to deal with the brain research. However, just so you know they are doing EEG studies and later they will do fMRI studies. The cool thing is the professor left me in sole charge of the behavioral science lab. Others wanted to help me and he felt I could handle it all bt myself. I go in today for another meeting to learn how to post applications for participants on the college Web page and another meeting to learn more about running the actual experiments. I have seen the software but I haven't done a run-though to see how it is actually ran.

Nell, I hope your life has settled down somewhat.

Well, I'd better catch up on posts. I have to tutor a student at 9:30, a class at 10:30, a meeting at 11:00 (I am caught up in class so I can leave early for the meeting) and another meeting at noon. Later I have class at 6-9pm. I am ready for the weekend.

Going to replace a roof on an older chicken coop today. It needs tar paper UNDER the metal roof; so going to be a tear off job to start! I think I can reuse most of the metal on there if I get it off good. Then I have some trailer paint on roofing rubberized stuff I'll "paint" on the reused metal. Have to get those girls ready for winter! LOL

My neighbor left last Sunday to get his truck from Carlsbad because he said it was repaired. He had wanted me to babysit his dog, which I declined due to my schedule and I also had a bad feeling about it. He said he would be back Tuesday or Wednesday, but I have yet to see him come home. I am glad I did not agree to watch his dog. I would still be babysitting and wondering where he was. He moved here because he said the teachers in Carlsbad kept failing him and making him retake classes. I have a feeling that he is going to have it even worse here because the teachers here do not put up with students not attending enough to know what to do and turn work in on time.

I went to dump my black water tank and discovered several cracks in my line. So, I wasn't able to finish dumping it. I am hoping that the black water tank will hold until DH comes on Wednesday. If not, I may have to go get me hose, wear some gloves, and take care of it myself. I have so much homework to do, pick some medication, pick up a sewer hose, and do laundry--all before tonight's race.

Wow DeBora, I don't know who has a worse job today! At least this work today on the chicken coop was outside so all the chciken droppings have been cleaned up for winter except th daily cleaning! LOL I just keep reminding myself that it is free fertiilzer for my garden! Hope you got all taken cae of easy. My roofing job went well and much quicker han I thought. I put it bak on with screws though so if anything else comes up I can take it off easier.

Well, I had to change out the hose. It was not going to wait until my DH gets here on Wednesday. I am sure I looked a sight with gloves on and everything. I am sure a germ-a-phobe anyway. lol I was worried that the flies would get worse with the holes in the line so I did it. I triple bagged the old hose and took it to the dump. Even though it was empty, it was still nasty. I got the black water tank dumped and rinsed out. I should be good for awhile. I told my DH that he needed to replace that hose every semester since the other hose was about a year old and this desert sun damaged it so much that it bursted. So, that is our plans.

I made Yummy's law-carb pizza. I will have to go on that thread and tell her how it turned out.

Cat, I bought a new version for the software that we are using for that class. The software uses an older version of the same software. The TA told the bookstore to order the newer version by accident. Therefore, I am stuck with adapting to the wrong textbook along with the rest of the class. We were also told to order an extra textbook that we were later told "nevermind" about needing it. That is the one I am out extra money on. I will be filing a complaint at the end of the semester--after the grades are posted. lol

Nell, have to tried to talk to the teacher or leader of the danceline class? Kids can be so cruel at that age! I don't think they could pay me to be that age again. Tell your DD to hang in there. It will be worth it someday. I know that is easier said than done. Tell her not to let those kids destroy her self-esteem! Whatever happens, I wish her well. Like what Cat said, vent anytime. That is what we are here for!

Dd was not feeling good, plus on top of that having trouble in three of her classes so have to get help in those classes,but by the time I pick her up from pratice she was ready to keep going. One of the older girls offer to help her with english class as that the one she has worse grade in. One of the reason I've been doing bad was I ran out of blood pressure medince almost two weeks ago, I didn't have a doctor or money to go to one to get a refill but adoctor at our church was able to get it where I have a month supply so maybe I can find a doctor to use relugar. Anyway things should start to look better. have a good night ladies will catch you tomorrow.

Have mised here; have gone to Louisville the past two days and have to go back today! DS had his oral surgery and it did well. Buying a 2000 car that needs lots of work and have been struggling to get all the paperwork done on it. Today have to meet with a sheriff in Kentucky for a VIN inspection so I can get it tagged and all and see about having it towed to the repair shop while we are there today. Hopefully after today we can stay home a few days!

Hope your DD works all the school stuiff out! It is so hard on the kids with everything now a days; just tell her to hang in there! So glad you got some meds sweetnell; I too have HBP and even though you don't feel bad usually with it is it so serious to be sure and tak your meds!

They wanted me to make my famous cream cheese braids because everyone always asks for them. However, that is a 2 day process and I only got notice last night. I figured a coffee cake was the easiest to make in short notice.

Tomorrow I have a lab meeting and a Psi Chi meeting at the same time. The Psi Chi secretary said she would make sure future meetings aren't on Thursdays since I have lab meetings on that day. The lab meetings are mandatory so I won't be missing them.

We also raided the fridge today for the very same reason. I have a doctor's appointment in Ruidoso in the morning, a student to tutor at 3pm, a meeting at 4pm, and another meeting at 5:30pm. I also have to find a way to pick up a check in the business office, pick up medication, and one other thing to do but I am too tired to get up to look at my list. lol

Dd's day started off badly as she couldn't find her black dance shoes,turns out another girl grabbed them by mistake. Her pep-rally peformance went off well. The school won their game the 2nd one hopefully they'll win this weeks as its homecoming. Hope your day goes well!

I just wanted to pop in while I have a few minutes. My hot water heater sprung a leak (when it rains it pours at my house) day before yesterday. It is holding up, but it will be Wednesday at the earliest when the new one will come in. Then, today, I didn't have hot water at all! I went out to see if it was lighting at all when it flamed up in my hair! Yes, the hair on my right side is fried! I had to take a cold shower to prepare for school tomorrow. I am a whiner and believe me, I am whining. This other girl and I have done all the work for a presentation that we have to deliver Wednesday. If we do well, our teammates will get a good grade, which is NOT fair. So, I emailed the teacher about that since I have spent my entire weekend working on that! Tomorrow I have at least 2 students signed up for a 2 hour experiment. I still haven't downloaded the program from one computer to the other 2! We can run 3 people at a time. I had planned to do that on Friday, but the computer was torn apart. So, I am hoping I can get that done before my first class at 10:30am as the experiment begins at noon.

Well, I need to catch up on some posts and emails before I study the constitution for my criminal procedure exam on Friday.

Hope things start getting better for you DeBora! Sounds like you've had enough go wrong for awhile. Our outdoor shower is all cold from the well so I know how the cold shower felt! Ours is 55 degree water temperature; we take a shower real quick!LOL

Hello Ladies! Hope your day is going well. Today mom goes to the heart doctor to see what course we need to take, hopefully it won't be an operation at this time. Tomorrow night I've got stay with mom as bil will be having a operation not sure if it will be shunts or even open heart ,if he has open heart I may be with mom several weeks thats why I maybe not able to check in very often. Anyway thats enough of my problems. Hope you both have a wonderful day and week! Oh by the way ,I get to wacth dd as she is in the homecomig parade then afterwards they'll have a pep-rally so something good happening today.

Awwww;That tag is so cute! Wish I could do that! Have to be up at 6 am so here I am woke wide awake at 3:30 am! Going to get car insurance on 2000 neon we are dropping an engine into and a bunch of other work. Want something little to do most of the running to our little towns near here instead of using my expedition all the time. Couldn't find a used car for less than $10,000 so for about half that this one will be like new! Even getting a 18 month warranty on the new engine! So today we are going to do some other things since we will be out.

Nell, I am glad that your DD had a good pep rally and parade.

Today is my slower day. I plan on studying while I run experiments. I get the students started on the computer and then I wait in an adjoining room while they complete tasks for over an hour. It is soooo freezing cold in the lab, so I am bringing my coat today!

Trip went fine, just another long day! Will be so glad when things actually settle down and we don't have to do so much running! Looks like that will be awhile though, Dh has to have more cancer tests next month so I'm getting things in order for those. Glad to hear your day gave you a little time DeBora!

I got home this evening and got an email from Jamie with her portion of the discussion attached and a message saying that she will take 3 minutes. Our group is limited to 5 minutes. The thing that irritates me is that she wanted to meet on Thursday and never showed. She apologized and said she would send us her portion before Saturday. I just got it tonight! She is upset because we did her part because we didn't know whether or not she would come through. I am so frustrated and angry! I so dread that class tomorrow too. So does the other group member. I can only pray that it goes well. Sorry to dump on everyone. This has been a piece of work!
