1 1/2 cups sugar
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1 12 oz can (1 1/2 cups) evaporated milk
2 tbsp vanilla
4 8 oz cartons plain yogurt
In a large saucepan stir together the sugar and gelatin. Stir in the evaporated milk. Cook and stir over medium heat till mixture almost boils and sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat. Cool. Stir in the vanilla. In a large mixing bowl using a wire whisk gradually stir the milk mixture into the yogurt till well combined. Freeze the mixture in a 4 or 5 quart ice cream freezer according to maufacturer's directions. Makes 2 quarts; 1 g fat per serving; 1 g sat fat,4 mg chol
Variatio: Prepare frozen yogurt as directed except just before freezing stir in one 8 oz can crushed pineapple (juice pack) well drained OR 1 cup coarsely mashed, peeled, pitted peaches
