This a a BH&G recipe
2 1/2 pound boneless beef chuck steak
1/4 cup lite soy sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp ground ginger
1 clove garlic, minced
4 tsp cornstarch
8 individual sub rolls, split
4 tbsp margarine, melted
Trim excess fat from meat; cut into thin bite size pieces. In a 4 qt crockpot combine soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic. Stir in meat. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 9 hours or on HIGH 3 - 4 hours. Remove meat rom juices with slotted spoon. Pour juices into a measuring cup and skim fat from juices. Measure 1 1/2 cups juices (add water if necesary) and place in a saucepan. Combine cornstarch and 2 tbsp water and add to saucepan. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Stir in cooked meat and heat through. Brush rolls with margarine and place on unheated rack of broiler pan. Broil, cut side up 4 to 5" from heat for 2 -3 minutes ortill toasted. Top bottom halves with meat mixture and toppings such as shredded cabbage, pineapple rings, sliced green onion or additional sauce suchas sweet & sour sauce. Makes 8 servings
