This sauce stiffens when poured on cold ice cream!

4 squares unsweetened chocolate
2 tbsp butter or margarine
3/4 cup boiling water
2 cups sugar
3 tbsp corn syrup
2 tbsp vanilla extract

Chop chocolate and heat with butter and boiling water in a large heavy pan over low heat, stirring constantly till chocolate is melted. Add sugar and corn syrup. Bring mixture slowly to boiling; reduce heat and simmer gently 8 minutes. Watch carefully but do not stir. Add vanilla. Serve while warm. Makes 2 cups
