This makes a special meal for the kids!
2 pkgs. ( 1 pound each) hot dogs
1/2 cup margarine
1 onion, chopped
1 loaf (1 pound) sliced white bread, torn into cubes
1 tsp basil, crumbled
1/2 cup hot chicken broth
1 can (15 oz) whole kernel corn
2 pimientos, diced
3/4 cup light corn syrup
3 tbsp salad mustard
Build a fire in a grill. Thread a crewel needle with cotton twine, not thread. Insert needle through center of hot dogs to make a long chain of hot dogs; knot twine at ends to make a circle and place on a circle of foil to fit "crown" on a metal pizza pan. Melt margarine in large suacepan and suate onion in margarine till soft, add bread cubes and basil till evenly coated with onion-margarine mixture and pour in chicken broth and toss till blended. Add corn and liquid and pimientos; toss well. Pile stuffing inside hot dog "crown" and brush hot dogs with mixture of corn syrup and mustard. Grill 5" from heat with grill covered and baste several times with mustard mixture, 40 minutes or till hot dogs are glazed and stuffing is hot. Slide onto serving plate with a pancake turner. Makes 8 servings
