When I moved to NC, I discovered the most wonderful strawberries that I have ever eaten! They were huge and so sweet! Berries of any kind would have to be my favorites.
I also like peaches but they have to be very ripe and sweet.
I like cantaloupe and honeydew too.
Come to think about it, there arent many fruits that I dont like. ;) :p

There are so few that I don't eat. In the summertime, I like all the melons, especially watermelon and cantalope. We get good cantalope in Carlsbad because it is so close to Pecos, TX where they grow the best cantalopes.
Does tomatoes count? I fight DGD for all Papa's tomatoes. She loves his cherry tomatoes. He grows strawberries too, but I let her have those because she enjoys picking them so much.
I love berries, but they look bad in the desert. Maybe it's because they are so fragile.

Blackberries tops my list and we have soooo many wild ones here on the property and then I planted some thornless ones to.
Peaches, pears, apples and Montgemry (sp) cherries. Right now I still have to get them at the farme stand, but my trees are starting to slowly produce so hopefully soon I can just pick and eat!
Growing cantaloupe for the first time. The Amish sell some here called Indiana cantaloupes that are the sweetest things I've ever tasted. Hope mine turn out as well.
Raspberries are the lowest on my list, but I've started a few of those too, so we'll just have to wait and see if my taste for them gets better.

To be able to go out and "pick and eat" would be the most wonderful thing right now! You are very lucky!!
There are quite a few strawberry farms in our area but this year they wanted $9.00 for a large basket of picked berries. With moving, I just didnt have the extra money to pay that much for them.

DHs strawberries are very small. There really isn't enough to make anything with. That's why I allow DGD to pick them. She is so pleased to pick stuff from Papa's garden's. Of course, we've had to teach her to leave the green fruits alone. LOL

I truly love all fruits but I think my absolute favorite summertime fruits are raspberries, cherries and of course watermelon. But then, there is nothing like the first bite of a fresh, perfectly ripe peach.

I love raspberries too Sammi. If you get a chance stop by the Welcome thread (http://www.momsmenu.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4749#post4749) so that others can meet you. All these fresh fruits are making me hungry. lol
There probaly isn't one fruit that I don't enjoy during the summer. We have fruit salad a lot during the summer becuase it's so refreshing and easy. But my favorites are probaly watermelon and strawberries. My ds loves tomatoes he steals them out of the fruit basket all the time!

All this talk got me hungry for fruit, so I got a cantalope at the store today. I'll probably take it home with me tomorrow or Thursday. I am going to Carlsbad then so that DH and I can go see our DD and DGS for their birthdays.

We bought a very good cantaloupe and watermelon over last weekend. I was extremely happy that they were both ripe and juicy! :)
BTW, DeBora, Did you DD decide on a theme for you grandson's party?

Yes, she wanted to do something to do with race cars because he loves to watch them on TV. I offered to get stuff from the theme "Cars" but she didn't want to do it around the movie. Then, her DH came home with "Cars" birthday invitations. She gave up and decided to go with that. lol I'll decorate the cake on Friday and I can get out of Cruces. LOL

I picked up a cantaloupe tonight, now we have to wait till tomorrow so it will be real good and cold! But in the meantime I've picked a couple of handfuls of blackberries tonight before the rain started so going to have them over some FF ice cream!

Thank you Tami. If I don't run into too much trouble at school, I plan on leaving after school and head for Carlsbad. We will go to Texas on Saturday for my DDs birthday and DGSs birthday. I have to be back on Monday. I need to get to Carlsbad in time to bake the cake and make a game. If things are too hectic at school, I will have to wait until Thursday. One of my professors from 2 semsters ago needs another participant for his experiment and I said I'd do it, so that's slow things up a bit too.

Thanks! I broke my pinky baby toe yesterday evening, so this should be interesting to see how long I can wear a shoe. lol On the drive home, I am sure I can take them off.

I started to say at least it is summer so you CAN take your shoes off, but I guess it doesn't really get cold down your way, does it?

In the winter it does get cold. Sometimes it gets cold enough to warrent a heavy coat. lol But, mostly, it is either hot or warm here more than it is anything.
We are having some problems in the lab, so I'll have to stay another day.
