A recipe from my German SIL
4 potatoes, grated medium fine
1/2 cup milk
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 large egg, beaten
6 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp salt
ground pepper
oil for frying
Grate potatoes into milk. Drain, add to onion with egg, flour, salt and pepper. Drop batter into hot oil using 2 tbsp oil for each batch of pancakes. Turn when brown on one side, cook till brown on other side. Serve with cottage cheese or applesauce.
