Here'a a way to "bake" a ham in the summer without turning on the oven!

1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp prepared horseradish
1/4 cup cola type soft drink (don't use diet)
3 to 4 pound precooked ham

Combine brown sugar, mustard, and horseradish. Moisten with just enough cola to amke a paste. Rub ham with this mixture and place in crock pot and add remaining cola. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 hour, then turn to LOW for 6 to 7 hours. Makes about 9 -12 servings

I have a ham and a crockpot, however I cannot have sugar, even when I am not low carbing. But, I bet I can make some alterations to this recipe.

Let me know if you figure out a way; I really don't know exactly why, but the original recipe just says don't use diet soda. Any one out there know maybe why?

I would guess that the sugar in the Cola helps carmelize the ham. But, that is only a guess.
