Has anyone seen a recipe for a dessert that is made to look like a hamburger and fries? I klnow I've seen some and believe that it might have been made out of cookies for the hamburger, but the "fries" part I don't remember what they were made out of at all. The whole"meal" is edible, but just need the recipes for them. Do you have the recipes lurking somewhere in your recipe files?

I have a recipe for the hamburgers:

vanilla wafers for the buns--paint honey lightly on the buns and sprinkle with sesame seeds

mini peppermint patties for meat

green colored coconut for lettuce

brightly colored red and yellow icing for ketchup and mustard

They are really cute!

Oh Thanks, they are so cute! I'm thinking of having a "platter" of these when we have our get together next month. Thanks again! Anybody out there with the "fries"?

I found this "recipe" for faux fries:

For the fries, peel some apples and cut them into sticks resembling fresh fries. Roll them in a cinnamon and sugar mixture and bake them for 8 to 10 minutes in a preheated 400 F oven.

I'll keep looking to see if I can find something else.

Are you planning on making these for a party?

I'm adding a pic. that I found. They look pretty good. I like the idea of using colored frosting for ketchup instead of the jam that they use

Here are faux hot dogs too! They seem like more work than the hamburgers though--but they are cute!

Hot Dog Cookies with Relish and Mustard recipe

These cookies are the cutest ones I have ever seen and fun to make. Shaped like miniature hotdogs. 1 hour of prep times is chill time.
16 hotdog cookies

1 hour 45 minutes
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla red food coloring green food coloring
3 teaspoons flaked coconut yellow decorator's frosting

Cream butter and sugar together.
Beat in flour and vanilla.
Remove 1 cup dough.
Add red food coloring and knead until well mixed.
Cover and chill remaining dough for 1 hour.
For hot dogs, divide red dough into 16 portions.
Shape into 2 1/2 inch hotdog shapes, rounding ends.
Set aside.
Divide plain dough into 16 portions.
Shape into 3" bun shapes.
Make a very deep length-wise groove in the center of each.
Smooth edges to form buns.
Place 3 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
Place hotdogs in buns.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until edges are browned.
Cool.
Meanwhile, for pickle relish, place the coconut and some green food coloring into a plastic bag.
Shake well to color the coconut.
Sprinkle the relish around the hotdogs in the buns.
For mustard, pipe a curvy stripe of yellow frosting down the middle of each hotdog.

I hadn't even thought of hot dogs! That would be cute on another "platter". Yes, we are having an immediate family(DH brothers & sisters and all their families and friends) get together July 1. It is going to be bring your food and drinks because we have no idea who will bring how many. And so many are on special diets I could never feed everybody. Some are coming to camp in the woods for the weekend and I thought on saturday a few "platters" of "hamburgers & fries" would be cute; now add hot dogs to that!

I used to have a recipe for a gaint hamburger Cake too, but haven't located that yet. If I do I'll post it here so others can use it too. Thanks again!

Somebody needs to hit me over the head! I thought you were actually looking for a recipe for real hamburgers and French fries. I could not imagine why that isn't something every American isn't born knowing! LOL As I read a little more carefully and look at the pictures, you are wanting something entirely different! LOL

These are just too cute! Maybe others will bring you some ideas.

Between Friday and Monday are race related days so my mind is only on one thing. That's my excuse anyway. LOL
