This recipe is from The Kapaa Fish & Chowder House in Kapaa,Hawaii. I have had this recipe since 1990; so I don't know if the place is still there.

1/2 cup raisins
1 1/2 cups self rising flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup canned solid pack pumpkin
2 large eggs
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 12 1/2 cup muffin cups. Place raisins in small bowl and pour enough boiling water over to cover. Let stand 5 minutes. Drain raisins. Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in large bowl. Add oil, pumpkin and eggs and mix just till combined. Mix in raisins and nuts. Divide batter among prepared muffin cups. Bake till tester inserted in center of muffins comes out clean, about 25 minutes. Cool slightly on rack. Serve warm or room temperature.
