I was looking for a roll recipe that would be good in school lunches.
Yesterday I tweaked a recipe I found in a bread machine cookbook. We really liked the results. You can make big rolls for sandwiches or small ones for dinner rolls. I made both sizes on the same pan and it worked fine. This recipe made 6 small rolls and 4 big ones.

Barb’s Sesame Seed Buns

1 cup milk
2 tbl softened butter
1 tbl sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
3 cups bread flour
3 tbl vital gluten
1 tbl yeast

For egg wash:
1 egg
1 tbl sesame seeds (or more)

Use dough cycle. At the end of the cycle, remove from the pan and place on floured board and punch down. Cover with a clean dish towel for 20 minutes.
Divide and roll into balls. Place dough balls on oiled cookie sheet. Cover
with the towel and allow to rise about 1 hour. Beat egg and brush over
rolls. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake 15 minutes at 375. Cool on a wire rack.

Sounds good Barbszy! So hows your newer bread machine doing? I'm okay yet with mine, but have noticed in the stores there doesn't seem to be a lot of variety out there like when they first came on the market.

Bread machine is doing great. Actually I don't have a "new" one. It's "new to me." A friend of mine heard I was looking to buy one and said I could have hers since it usually goes unused. I use it a couple of times a week.

I'm just now making more sesame seed buns for the rest of the week's lunches.

Here's a picture of the sesame seed buns. Mixed batch--big and small.
