View Full Version : Biscuits with Sausage Apple Gravy

4 buttermilk biscuits, warm
2 tsp margarine
1 medium apple, cored, coarsely chopped
1 pound bulk sausage of your choice
3 tbsp flour
2 1/4 cups milk
1/2 tsp onion salt
1/2 tsp coarse grind pepper
1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper

In a 10" skillet melt margarine and add apple pieces; cook 4 to 7 minutes stirring till crisp tender. Remove from skillet but keep warm. Crumble sausage and cook 4 to 6 minutes stirring till no longer pink. Add 1 tbsp flour, stirring constantly till brown. Stir in remaining flour and stir in milk with a whisk. Cook 3 minutes stirring constantly till mixture thickens. Stir in apple pieces, onion salt and peppers. Split warm biscuits and top with sausage apple gravy.
