Ideas needed
We have a birthday party planned for Saturday. Both my daughters birthdays are this month. They are turning 16 and 17. So to save time and money we planned to have them together. I have 15 teenagers(boys and girls) coming for a barbecue/swimming/bonfire.
The problem is "HANNAH" she is going to hit our area with rain and wind on Saturday. So now I need to come up with a back up plan incase it is nasty on Saturday.
Our funds are limited because dh is layed-off from work. Also school is starting.
If you have any ideas I would like to hear them.

One idea would be to do a pizza party. You can make your own homemade dough (I have a recipe that is easy and good if you want it), and have all the pizza toppings for everyone to make their own pizza. Rent a movie or borrow some from a friend that the kids would like. Have some chips and dip sitting around and some cookies. Fix a large cooler of lemonade, and have a cooler full of bottled waters. Have music available if they want that.
And of course have a cake, and homemade works fine! You can have some ice cream avaiable and have a selection of toppings available for that also. Have a good time!

I was going to suggest a taco party. My daughters friend used to do a taco night one night a week and invite all her friends. The kids loved making their own tacos. You can serve chips and salsa with it. Then cake.

Thanks for the ideas. We will see what happens but we are thinking of a pizza and board game party. Most of the girls are sleeping over. The guys are going home at 10:30. So we have the dvr game and lots of board games. I will pull the card tables out of the camper before it rains. I will let the girls go rent 1 or 2 movies. I know my oldest was really looking forward to the bonfire. But if it isn't raining to bad we can still have the campfire.
We thought about changing the date but it looks like the following weekend we might have Ike on its way up the coast.
I did make my older daughter laugh. When I was pregnant for her we live in NC by the coast. A week or so before she was born we had a hurricane come up the coast. Thankfully it went and hit VA we missed most of it. We just told her that she attracts all the hurricanes. So it is all her fault.
Thanks again for the ideas. If you think of anything else let me know.

Sounds like a plan! Hey if the weather doesn't allow a bonfire you could have "Part 2" of the party later this fall when the weather will be cold to really enjoy a bonfire! Hmm, hot cocoa and roasted marshmallows!!! Have fun!
