I was searching the net for ideas on how to transport cupcakes.. It's always such a hassle for me, especially if I can't frost them when I get to the destination... On about.com I found an article that suggested taking your cooled cupcakes, slicing off the top 1/3. frosting them and then replacing the top of the cupcake. The frosting is protected, and you can wrap them in plastic wrap, ready to go... They can even be individually wrapped, frozen and just popped into a lunchbox, ready to eat at school. I never would have thought of it on my own.. but it seems as clear as day now! So I thought I'd share...

Hmmm, do you turn the frosted side down? This is funny you talk about this, I just saw a neat container in a discount store yesterday for transporting cupcakes. I don't need to do that much anymore so I couldn't seeing me paying the $19.99 price, but if I still needed to do that I think I would have bought it. It is made by Wilton (the cake people), and carries 12 regualr size or you flip the extra inside piece over and it carries 24 minis. Has a nice cover and handle.

I'm pretty partial to a different brand LOL.
Actually putting the frosting in the middle and then maybe sprinklig some powdered sugar sugar on top is a great idea.
