Can chicken-noodle soup be frozen, or will I wind up with super-gigantic noodles and no broth after I defrost it?

Barb, it has been awhile since I froze homemade chicken noodle soup. The noodles were a little swollen, but not very bad. What if you cooked them a little al dente before freezing them? I guess that would be difficult if you're trying to freeze left-overs.

Yes, they're leftovers. I guess the only thing to do is freeze it and see what I come up with later!

I usually just put mine in the back of the refrigerator and we have it later in the week or for lunches; sorry! I would be interested in what it turns out to be though if you do! Most of the time pasta of any kind doesn;t take too well to freezing, but in soup----I've heard of people doing it, but never have myself. I guess it depends on how YOU like it after a freeze.LOL
I thinks I'd put less noodles in it to begin with, then just freeze the left over broth and veggies or what ever, and add noodles when I reheat the soup at a later date.

Personally I'm not a fan of rfeezing noodles/pasta, excluding lasagne, they seem to go soggy after defrosting even in the fridge.
If I have savoury mince I try to pick as many as possible noodles out.
I don't generally have leftover chic noodle soup, my lot are not a soup savvy lot LOL
