It has been written somewhere on Moms Menu that to make rum balls that I would need either Christmas cake or fruit cake. I am not a fan of fruit cake. So, what is Christmas cake. Does anyone else have any easy recipes for rum balls? I'd like to make some.

My brother makes great rum balls. I believe that it is something like this:

CHOCOLATE RUM BALLS
In a large bowl stir together: 1 c. finely chopped pecans 1 c. confectioners
sugar 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa 1/3 c. light or dark rum 1 c. Karo light or
dark corn syrup
Stir vanilla wafer crumbs, pecans, confectioners sugar and unsweetened
cocoa. Stir in light or dark rum and Karo light or dark corn syrup until well
blended. Shape into 1 inch balls. Roll in 1/2 cup confectioners sugar. Store
in tightly covered container. Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.

CHOCOLATE BOURBON BALLS
Substitute 1/3 c. bourbon for rum.

I'm going to call my Mom right now to see if she has a copy of his recipe handy so that I can post it for you.

YUMMY!!!

She can't find hers right off hand but she said that she thinks that it's like this one: (She said that my bro. always added more rum to them ;))

CHOCOLATE-RUM BALLS
1 (8 1/4 oz.) pkg. chocolate wafer cookies, crushed
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. sifted powdered sugar
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1/4 c. dark rum
Additional powdered sugar
Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl; stir well. Shape into 1
inch balls, and let stand 10 minutes. Sprinkle additional powdered
sugar over balls. Store in tightly covered container.
