I like various types of cheese balls, dips, and Texas Trash. But, I also make Rotel cheese dip and Armadillo Eggs.
Our favorite is the good old veggie tray and dip.
DeBora, I think I asked you before, what are armadillo eggs?

Coll, they are cream cheese filled jalapenos wrapped in bacon and baked. They are to die for!

First, WELCOME to Moms Menu!
Where does one get pineapple cream cheese? I love sweet with spicy!

DeBora,
I've seen pineapple cream cheese at the grocery store with the other varieties of cream cheese. Another way is in the little Kraft jars (often near the Velveeta).
I have a favorite cheese ball recipe (although I generally don't make it into balls, I just use it as a spread) that my mom used to make. It uses a combination of cream cheese, Kraft Sharp Cheddar (in the little jars), Kraft Roka Bleu (in the little jars) with a touch of garlic powder and red wine vinegar. Nice flavor -- creamy yet tangy.
This year I also made spinach dip (the kind with a package of Knorr's vegetable soup mix).
I also like mixed nuts or I make a version of peppery pecans that have a salty-spicy mixture baked on the pecans.

For New Years eve I'm making an assortment of appetizers. Guests are coming at 8pm, so no dinner buffet, ( I like appetizers better anyway)
I'm making spinach dip that I serve in a hollowed out loaf of pumpernickle bread, the bread cubes are used for dipping. I serve a veggie platter with this too.
I'm cooking chicken wings that I bake with garlic, oregano, thyme, basil, parsely, salt and pepper.. simple and good. My "famous" Waikiki meatballs, party pinwheels and deviled eggs. My friend makes a chicken and cranberry crescent wreath, which is great, and then I'll heat up pigs in blankets and pizza bagels. I also have chips pretzles and tortilla chips, which I serve with onion dip, salsa, guaccamole and salsa con queso.
No shrimp this year, because one of my guests is allergic to them.
If anyone wants recipes, let me know

I thought I would revive this post. What kind of appetizers do you serve during the holidays? If you don’t serve appetizers, which are your favorites that others serve at their house?

Not much really, as we are outside and cold stuff gets warm to quickly, small cheese platter with crackers, sundried tomatoes, and dip but if it's not used in 10-15 minutes it goes out as the heat is to much.
So mostly things that don't spoil in the heat, we don't have air con inside so not much difference in here.

If I get really ambitious I will make a pepperoni bread.

I serve veggie tray's, grilled asparagus wraped in bacon, spinich dip in a hollowed out deep round bread, and an assorted cheese try.
I like those stuffing balls with spinach and I think some cheese is in them too. Can't find the recipe.

We have a zippy cheese spread that we like on Triscuit crackers. I also make some peppery pecans that DH loves. If we're going to or having a party, DH often asks for a multi-layer taco dip that I make or a crab meat/cream cheese layered spread that I made.

I can see here I'm going to have to get more ideas on heat tolerant foods, be more adventurous LOL

I like to serve or take to a party a choice of these - taco layer thing with chips; bagels spread with cream cheese and smoked salmon on top (each half cut in 6 pieces); spinach dip in a round bread loaf; vegetable tray with ranch dip. Anything else that might sound interesting that I find in the cookbooks or on the internet.

Are the bagels toasted first?

Kathy, bagels are like bread, some like them toasted and some don't. I prefer mine toasted. But, that is just a personal preference.
