How many cook books do you have? I have at least 200!

Oh, my I have no where near that many. I have maybe 8 or 10. I have my mother's old recipes, a shoe box full of recipes I have clipped from magazines, and I have recipes in my recipe box at allrecipes.com and Pillsbury and Kraftfoods.com. Do you have recipe books of other cultures, Italian, French, etc.? Oh, I would love to see your collection. I could spend weeks going through those.

I gave up counting long ago! LOL I even gave away so many when we moved! I have three shelves 8 foot long filled, 8 three drawer 3 x 5 recipe card index files, several more (cute) recipes boxes, and stacks of recipes printed from computer sites. And even though I gave so many away I still find myself just having to have a certain cookbook! I have several that belonged to my great, great aunt, my grandmother too. I do have several from other countries, I even have one in German so no way I can use it to cook with! LOL But I just call it "my collection" and I can get away with it calling it that!

I have at least 200 also. Someday I should count them.LOL I also have tons of clippings from papers and tons of magazine style cookbooks. Now I also have a few CD's with recipes. Awwww the madness of collecting recipes!

I have three 8 foot long shelves cramped with cookbooks, eight 3 drawer 3 x 5" files full, a cookbook shelf in the kitchen for all my lowfat/ no fat, a double 3 x 5 wooden recipe box on my kitchen counter for favorites. I have more in addition to this! Okay so I'm a cookbook and recipe junky! LOL:p

Alice, wouldn't counting them require time? LOL That's why I've never counted mine.

BTW, your first name is the same as my MIL

I only have about 25 cookbooks. I do have clippings cut out but not organized. Now my Mom probably does have 200 or so too!

First of all, I don't think I've welcomed you to MomsMenu, so WELCOME; if I have consider this a second welcome!

I just organized some of my cookbook shelves (had to put up permanent ends on the shelves because the weight of all them were making them all fall! ), lots of my really old ones are from my grandmother and great, great aunt; there are some wonderful recipes in them, and I love all the handwritten notes they had put in them!

Robin, if you get a chance, be sure to check out the Welcome thread (http://www.momsmenu.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3458#post3458) so that others can "meet" you.

Also, I am enjoying the journal and have read your information. Thanks!

Just bought a new one! Betty Crocker Bisquick II Cookbook; it's supposed to have all new recipes in it. They really look good; so I'll start posting some after I try them!

Are these recipes that use Bisquick?

Yes they are , I really like cooking with it; most of the time the recipes are rather quick to make. I still have to substitute for DH, but that is always the case! LOL I made one of the dishes yesterday as we had drop in company right at lunch time and I didn't have anything prepared so it really came in handy! I'll post it over on the recipe exchange under eggs!
