If you are attending any holiday parties, what dishes are you bringing or serving? I have two that I will be attending. One I have to bring a dessert and the other I will probably bring some sort of appetizer. What about you?

My husband's family has a big tradition of a Christmas Eve party. There are always at least 50 people there. The meal is divided up among different parts of the family. My generation is responsible for dessert. I'm bringing brownies and gingerbread (a pan of each).

I will also be bringing dessert to my parents' house on the day after Christmas. Haven't decided what that will be yet but it has to be something pretty easy as I won't have a lot of time for baking. Probably I will make up a bag of the dry ingredients ahead of time.

We finally picked a date for our office party at work. Our head boss is taking us all out to the country club for lunch. Then, we will have a white elephant exchange at the office.

We each are to bring some fun munchies to party with at the office. So, I have a week to decide on what to bring to the office, appetizer wise.

DH's family has decided to have a small gathering on the 16th so we have been asked to bring a side dish and a 2 liter. Since there won't be a thing that DH will be able to eat I'm taking a vegetable platter with fat free dip so he can munch on something. We will probably eat a large lunch before we go so he won't be hungry! Other than that there won't be any parties for us. I really wish we didn't have to go to this one; we'd both rather just stay home. It will be a 150 mile trip and it will be dark before we get home.

I've decided to bring Tortilla pinwheels to the office party. I can make these ahead of time, after my final, final. lol The other good thing is that they don't have to be kept warm.

That sounds pretty obvious to make DeBora but can you tell on how you do it, and what you put on/in them?

Kathy, here is the recipe for the Tortilla Pinwheels (http://www.momsmenu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94). You can change the ingredients to your liking. For example, you could add chopped pecans or dates instead of green chilies If I have enough green in the tortillas wheels, I sometimes like to add a bit of red pimientos to the tops of each slice to add red color to the green so that it has those Christmas colors. If I make them the evening before. Then, all I will have to do the next day, is slice them and put them on a party tray.

Christmas Eve we have dinner after 4:30 Mass for the immediate family. I'll provide the main meal , No idea what yet, and the kids supply the snacks & drinks.
Christmas Day we are going to db& sil house for dinner. There will be about 15 people and I will bring the snacks. I like the idea of the pinwheels, probably either a shrimp dip or tray. Maybe a cheeseball & sausage. I know it sounds like a lot but tradition says my dh 7db get the sausage and the females alll want the shrimp ect

I am going to an ornament exchange party this Thursday. I am planning on bringing this: http://www.pillsbury.com/Recipes/showrecipe.aspx?rid=15627 and hopefully a recipe that catlover post for banana bread.

Kathy, I just did a google search and found this copycat recipe for the crescent roll dough (http://www.astray.com/recipes/?show=Pillsbury%20crescent%20rolls). I've never tried this--so your mileage may vary.

ajrsmom, the tree shaped appetizer looks really good!

Barbszy, maybe you can post the copy cat recipe on the copy cat section; I'm sure lots of people would find that interesting!
