This is a quick to fix dish that kids seem to like and they can help prepare it also!

5 hot dogs, sliced
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup chili sauce
1 tbsp prepared mustard
1 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp cornstarch
1 1/4 cups elbow macaroni, drained

In a skillet cook hot dogs and onion in oil till lightly browned. Combine next 5 ingredients and mix well. Stir into skillet and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook and stir 2 minutes. Add macaroni and cook on low till heated through. 4 servings

what kind of chili sauce do you recommend? Is there a particular brand? To me, chili sauce is really hot, red sauce that I had in Mexico--almost like tabasco sauce; I'm thinking this must be something different? I think my kids would like this as long as it is not spicy!

I usually buy Heinz, but even a store brand is usually just as good! It isn't a hot sauce at all, let me try to describe it to you.... it is really a sweet sauce and the ingredients are usually like this:

Sugar, water, pickled red chilli, vinegar, garlic, salt, stabilizer: Xanthan gum

If a recipe calls for it ;it does give it that special umppp, so I wouldn't leave it out. I find mine near the ketchup in the groceries usually. Hope that helps; if not let me know!

No problem, I guess if you can't find it ( you know how different groceries put things in different places LOL)go to the customer service counter and ask. Let me know if you find it or not. I use it even in my baked beans!
