This is a favorite at Christmas!
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 tsp salt
1 cup shelled black walnuts
1 pinch salt
1/2 tsp rum extract
Cook sugar and water till it barely threads (235 degrees) and let stand till
bubbles leave. Add 1 tsp salt and beat till cloudy. Add walnuts and rum
extract and beat till fairly stiff. Pour onto board and let set and break
into pieces.
