Ok this might sound weird but....I recently saw an episode of Iron Chef America were the secret recipe was peas. One chef took some ice cream, a few peas, froze the ice cream, and dipped them in chocolate to make pea popsicles. My question is....does anyone know of an actual recipe for these? Call me crazy but I wouldn't mind trying them haha.

Shushi, I wish I could find the recipe for you. Unfortunately, they don't publish those recipes. I hope someone finds it for you.

I found a site where they rated the green pea popsicle they bought in China, but no recipe! They even have a corn popsicle. I'll continue to research this and if I find a recipe I'll post it here. You might try inquiring at a Chinese grocery store.

If you have the popsicle moulds the ice cream part is eay. I buy the ice cream in whatever base flavour you want, eg chocolate, let it soften to mixing consistancy then mix in your peas, your broken up cookies, your own chco chips your own crushed nuts absolutely anything you wnat that isn't to watery, mix this in and refreeze.
This is how I do my ice cream christmas cake or pudding.
I soften a 2L tub of chcolate ice cream and add 1/2 cup of mixed dried fruit and then line a tapered bowl with cling wrap, fill with the ice cream, freeze, when needed I turn upside down and the plastic helps pull it out and I then drizzle over it the choc ice (you know the stuff that sets like chco when it touches the cold) and I have my pudding.
For the ice cream cristmas cake I use vanilla ice cream in the same way and mix in broken up fruit cake, and freeze in a lined cake tin, turn and serve.
Hope this makes sense, but if you're into making your won ice cream you just use that instead.
Peas I'm assuming would be cooked and cooled first.

Hmmm, I was a bit puzzled because I wasn't sure the pea popsicles were a "dessert" or actually some sort of frozen "vegetable" to be eaten as a popsicle. The picture I have seen of them made by a Chinese company of course were all green and smooth( like the peas had been pureed), but with no English in the ad so I really couldn't tell. Have you made them Bilby?

I haven't seen that particular episode of ICA, but they are given a secret ingredient and have to make up recipes and serve them within an hour. However, they usually serve a dessert. Now I am interested in watching this episode.

Maybe I got it wrong in the popsicle thinking, they are an ice cream here, a sweet. I was assuming that the pea one was an ice cream dessert. Personally a pea popsicle makes me cringe it's not what I think would be something I'd like to try, I hate the whole mushy pea thing LOL
but ...... variety is what makes the world go round, if anyone tries one let me know how it went.

The first thing to think of when "popsicle" is mentioned is a sweet item; but like I saud here; I'm not sure about these! LOL
SushiMushi; on the show; did they have them as a dessert or as a veggie?
