I am scheduled to feed 40 freshmen boys tomorrow. I already served them once, I served beef enchilladas, tortilla chips w/salsa, and cookies. I am hitting a road block and have no idea whatsoever what to make for tomorrow. The other parents who have shared in the weekly responsibility have already used the categories: grilled hamburgers, twice baked potatoes, taco salad, sloppy joe, and pizza. I do not wish to repeat anything. And I do not wish to spend a fortune. If you could advise me on something simple to feed them I would be forever grateful.

What about chili dogs? I know my sons loved these when I had them at their party.

Baked ziti or lasagna always works and is easy to do ahead. Serve it with lots of bread and a nice salad and you're all set. I've never known a high-school boy to turn down pasta with plenty of cheese.

How about some submarine sandwiches? You can get Italian loaves and make them yourself. Or maybe a Subway would give you a good deal on some? Around here after 4pm you can get two foot long ones for 8.99. But making them yourself would probably be even cheaper. You could do crockpot of baked beans, and have chips and pretzels. And a variety of maybe Little Debbie snacks or chocolate chip cookies would work. Let us know what you end up with and Good Luck!

I was thinking
chili or chili dogs,
spaghetti
breakfast for dinner--pancakes, waffles,
scrambled eggs, toast and bacon or sausage
homemade chicken noodle soup
meatballs and gravy over noodles or mashed potatoes
hot chicken or turkey sandwiches with mashed potatoes and gravy
Quesidillas--with any filling that is one sale....cheese, hamburger, chicken, turkey. with spanish or seasoned rice and nachos
Club sandwiches and cold side like macaroni or potato salad and chips
Good Luck on whatever you choose!! Please do let us know what you end up making!

How about hotdogs wrapped in crescent rolls? We call them weinie wraps or pigs in a blanket.

Coll, I have been craving those. I make them with those smoked ****tail wieners. I add some chunks of cheddar and mustard and wrap in large biscuit dough that I get from those pop-out cans. It is a quick and easy meal, lunch, or party food! Good idea Coll!
DeBora, Here's something you could do with your gk's take a hotdog, wrap a crescent roll around all but about 1 inch of the hotdog and bake according to the crescent roll directions. When done, use ketchup or mustard to add eyes and a mouth. These are called "mummy" dogs. I make them at halloween for the girls. They love them. Somewhere I have a picture of the ones the girls made a year or so ago. I keep wanting to post it at FC for the kids cooking but always forget to do it.

40 teenage boys! Good Lord.
You don't need a food recipe for them. You need a drink recipe for you.
Someone already said it but I think the chili is a good idea. Or maybe a stew. Large one-pot meals is the best way to go with a crowd that size.
Or just order pizza and and use the time to keep an eye on your teenage girls.
