1/2 cup raisins
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup currant jelly
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tsp cornstarch
1/8 tsp allspice

In a medium glass bowl combine raisins, water, jelly and orange juice. Heat uncovered in a microwave on HIGH power for 3 minutes, stirring after 1 1/2 minutes of cooking. In a separate bowl combine sugar, cornstarch and allspice. Stir corn starch into raisin mixture. Cook uncovered in microwave on HIGH power for 3-5 minutes till thickened, stirring every 30 seconds. Serve over ham, pork chops or duck. Makes 1 1/2 cups. Refrigerate any leftovers.

My DH loves raisin sauce on his ham. I make it for him on Thanksgiving usually.

My recipe is similiar to yours but it doesn't call for currant jelly. Does it make a big difference in the taste??

This sounds like a great sauce. I will have to try it. I love expiermenting and trying new things to put on my ham. Thanks for sharing this one.

I guess it just makes it a little sweeter and helps with the thickening of the sauce a bit. I've never made it without it so not sure! LOL
