I was emailed a recipe called Bundt Pan Cheesecake. I did a search on the internet and found it all over the place, but no one that had posted it stated that they had actually MADE it.

I was concerned because of the type of pan and the fact that the instructions said to press the crust into the bottom of the pan, then add the cheese filling, blah blah, then invert. That makes no sense to me at all, how can you have a cheesecake with the crust on the top??

Anyway, I made the recipe but I chickened out and made it in a spring form pan LOL Have you ever heard of such a recipe? If so, have you tried it and what are your thoughts and comments?

Here's the recipe for your reference:

Bundt-Pan Cheesecake
Wonderful, Rich Cheesecake Baked in a Bundt Pan!

Crust
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 Tbls. sugar

Filling
5 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese
1 3/4 cups sugar
3 Tbls. flour
1 tsp. lemon zest
1 tsp. vanilla
6 eggs
1/4 cup whipping cream

Combine crust ingredients, and press into bottom of 12-cup molded
bundt pan.

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except the eggs and cream. Beat
until light and fluffy. Scrape bowl occasionally. Add the eggs, and
mix for 2 minutes on medium speed. Add cream, and mix well, scraping
sides occasionally. Spoon into crust.

Bake at 300 degrees F. for 65 to 75 minutes or until set.

Cool upright in pan for 30 minutes; then refrigerate 2 hours or
longer.

Invert on serving plate.

Amanda,
I had never heard of this, but it sounds interesting. How did it taste?

I would imagine that you could do a double invert if you didn't like that the crust was on the top -- take a second plate and invert it again.

It will be interesting to know if anyone has made it in a bundt pan. I always want to know if others have had success before trying a new recipe. I have never heard of this one.

I'm going to have to try this one; I bet it would be a pretty looking cheesecake! Will let you know if I make it!

I'm looking forward to seeing if anyone tries is the way the recipe calls for it. Like I said, I did make the recipe, but I used a traditional springform pan and it was delicious. I just can't imaging it with the crust on top!

Also, the crust was a bit chewy, I think there wasn't enough graham cracker or too much butter.

Sorry for the delayed post. I just moved and have been in disarray.

With that said, pastry is not my specialty but if I were going to make a cheesecake I would stick with a traditional pan, as you did. I have never made one in a bundt pan. Use thr springform. Why mess with something that already works?
