1 pound green beans, trimmed
1 1/2 cups water
1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup vegetable broth
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp rice wine
1 tbsp sugar
3 cloves garlic, minced
Heat the water in a wok or a large saucepan. Add the beans and steam till tender but crisp about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside. In a small bowl, combine the vegetable broth, soy sauce, rice wine and the sugar and stir to dissolve the sugar. Wipe the water from the wok or saucepan and add the oil and heat over medium high heat. Add the garlic and stirfry for one minute. Add the beans and sauce, and cook for two minutes stirring often.
