Speaking of the holidays, I was wondering if we could start a <cooky favorites> Do you all have a favorite hoilday cooky recipe? I would love to hear them. I make tons for the holidays, in fact, I am starting now. The troops overseas, have to have theirs mailed ,very early, Thankx to all that respond!:D

I like making candy cane cookies at Christmas. I will have to look for my recipe. They are like sugar cookies. You dye half the dough red and the other half you leave the way it is. Refrigerate for at least an hour. Then, you roll them into sticks and take a red one and a white one and make candy canes into them. You bake until lightly golden brown. You can also make checkerboard cookies. Put chocolate instead of red in half of the dough. Then, You put a choc and white stick on bottom and alternate the top to make a square. After refrigerating, you slice and bake.
