School will be starting soon. For those who have children in school (or those of us who are children in school lol), how are you preparing for school lunches, the rush during breakfast, and other meals for the busy life during school?

My school will be starting soon (August 27th). I will be back to super-planning! I will have to plan ahead on what I will eat, when I will eat, and when I will shop.

So far, I plan on shopping on Mondays and Thursdays since I will already be in town for classes. I would hate to make a special trip just to get a few things. 9 miles just to town, not including traffic and lights. I will probably do laundry during that time too.

I won't have to take lunches to school this semester since all my classes are night classes, which I hate. Since it gets so hot in my RV, I will be preparing a lot of crockpot meals or grill outside. I am also low carbing, so I will be making some adjustments this year as I will take fruit or nut snacks to school to tide me over.

What are you doing to prepare for the hectic schedule so that your children will have nutritious meals?

Now that school is under way, how have you adjusted to making meals?

I make a school week's worth of breakfast burritos and wrap them in in plastic. That way, early in the morning, I just have to heat and serve. I make my lunches the night before.

LOL I have been planning meals all along but since all the activities have started what was planned has gone out the window. Of course it doesn't help that I've had a bad cold this week and DH has now gotten it. But I strive to eat at home all this next week and cook from the meal plan of 10 meals.

I like to pack up a bunch of snacks in baggies/containers. Then when it's time to make 3 lunches in the morning, I can grab the bags of carrots/celery, pretzels, etc.
