Tonight, I am planning my menus for when we go to the mountains at the end of June and early July. We will be able to have camp fires and grill and we also have an RV to cook on the stove or oven. Do you have any ideas for breakfasts, lunches, and dinners?

When we go camping we take bacon wrapped filets from Wal-Mart, boneless chicken breasts, o hamburgers for dinner over the campfire. I usually mix seasonings in the hamburgers and roll them into balls before we leave to go and then when it is time to cook them we just flatten them and put them over the campfire. We also have a stove to use, so for breakfast we usually do eggs, pancakes, french toast or biscuits and gravy. They are all very easy to make. As for side dishes, you can slice or cube potatoes, wrap them in foil with butter and seasonings and grill like that. Or get some fresh corn. That is always good over a fire. Hope this helps.

I learned one time to take foil and put in a hamburger and some potatoes and carrots, season all of this and wrap it up in the foil and then put it in the fire embers to cook. It is really very good when it is done. We used to do this in girl scouts.

I love the foil meal ideas. I should also mention that we will be camping in a high altitude in the mountains. I know that affects cooking.
