I don't know where I got this idea, but I thought it was a good one, so I made it for my GKs this morning, with my DGD's help, of course. Kids can do most of the work making them too.

French Toast Shish-Ka-Bobs

Shish-ka-Bob sticks
Various fruits cut into chunks
French Toast (recipe included)

French toast
8 slices of bread
1 cup whole milk
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
dash of cinnamon, if desired

Mix the milk, eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon. Dip each slice of bread in the custard mixture. Place on hot griddle on low heat. Cook 2-3 minutes on each side. Pour desired syrup on each slice of toast while it is warm. Cut the toast in large squares.

To assemble each shish-ka-bob, place a couple of squares if French toast, and then each fruit and repeat until you fill one stick. Then, eat and enjoy.

You can also serve with yogurt for dipping if desired.

I personally cut bananas into large chuncks, large strawberries, pineapple chunks, and watermelon chunks. You can also use grapes, apple chunks, and anything else you like.

Also, these are not only fun to make and fun to eat, they are healthy too.

What a fantastic idea!!! You definitely have to be creative with food in order to get kids to eat sometimes. My son would probably love this idea. He loves to dip, also, so I bet he'd enjoy dipping the fruit in yogurt. He loves to dip french toast and pancakes in syrup. :)

The cool thing about the yogurt is that the kiddos get their calcium. My DGD ate 2 shish-ka-bobs and she is NOT a breakfast eater. We really had a blast last time they were here making those.
