Hi Stephanie and welcome! I hope you find lots of recipes and tips here that you can use. Feel free to share your favorites with us! :)

Here's my best "toddler feeding" tip. Feed them what you eat, right from the start. They want your food anyway! LOL! I might dial down the spice a little, or let them leave off the sauce, but generally my kids have always eaten the same food as my husband and me. Now they are 15, 11 and 5, and very good (and adventurous!) eaters. I think my husband is pickier than the kids.

I agree with Barb. Also, you cold start a thread to ask others for their ideas on creative ways to feed a toddler. If you need help, just ask.

Hello I just joined this evening and it has taken me several trys to get logged in but thats ok I'm here now!

I'm a stay at home Mom to 3 kids five and under. I also have a home candle business I run locally and online. I joined here mainly to pick up some good time saving recipes. I picked up a good tip for time management and that is crockpot recipes. I think I could pick up some easy recipes too. I do't know that my husband will want something from the crockpot every night?

Anyway, glad to be here.

Tracy, welcome to MM! I can't wit to share some recipes with you. I live in an RV while I am away at school. It gets pretty hot during the spring and summer months, especially here in the desert. So, I cook a good many meals in the crockpot (http://www.momsmenu.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=22) as it doesn't heat up the place, it is easy, and it is ready when I come home. Jump in and make yourself at home.

Hi,
I am a SAHM of 2 girls ages 13 and 10. I have been with my DH for 15 years. We I have a step-daughter 19 and she has a 3 year old daughter. I live in Ohio and enjoy spending time with my family, scrapbooking, and doing crafts. We bought our home three years ago from my in-laws and are spending our time remodeling and repairing things as we can. So I am being frugal so that more can be done faster!

Hello, my name is Barb (another one!) and I'm a SAHM of three: 10yr. old, 8 going on 9yr. old daughters and one 4 going on 5yr. old son. Of course both their birthdays are in May! May 22nd and May 23rd to be precise. I'm very glad that I "invested" in some cake decorating courses! I hope to add to my collection of cake recipes, I'm just starting to dabble in fondant now and would appreciate hints, help or recipes on fondant.

Hi , I just dropped in from Family Corner-and decided to sign in here also. I'm origionally from Maine and moved here to Tn 5 years ago. We love it here it's just so peaceful. The only drawback is the humidity in late summer. We were empty nesters but, now I'm a stay at home granma. Gd just moved in with us so her mom can go back in the service. Gd is a very special person and a joy to be around. We never have a dull moment she is just so funny. We have 13 dogs and 3 cats and are members of the Humane Asso. here in the county. Dh has just retired and I'm staying at home with granddaughter but, can't work outside anyway because of back and leg problems.

It is only my 13 y.o. DD who is vegetarian. My other two and DH think she is nuts and feel that meat is part of the circle of life. I will support her as best I can. I have been very flexible in meal preparation and try to accomodate. When all else fails, there is a package of Boca Burgers in the freezer!

DeBora4BobbyL
11-15-2007, 09:52 AM
My DD went through the same phase when she was about that age. I supported her then too. She eventually took a tour of a place and discovered that they don't torture animals when they are butchered and then she decided to eat meat. I think that was her reason to become a vegetarian. Some do it because it is the fad and others do it because it is healthy.

alipicard69
11-15-2007, 04:56 PM
Yes my DD feels bad for the animals and that they are used to feed us. She has now turned many of her friends against meat as well!

We have been part of Boy Scouts for 9 yrs, my 17 yr old is trying to get his Eagle, and 15 yrs old is working on Star. I am just working on getting them both done. I like to camp, cook, read, and talk. My boys say that the talking part should be done in moderation. Hope all had a really good Thanksgiving. I am not online alot, but I hope to get to know alot of you.

May God Bless you all.

Hi Tammy and welcome! I also have a teenage son working on his Eagle badge. He just finished all his merit badges and now has to get going on the dreaded project! My kids are a boy 15, girl 11 and boy 5. So we will have one finishing Boy Scouts and one getting started in Cubs. DH is a Boy Scout leader and will be Cubmaster next year.

I hope you enjoy your time here at MomsMenu. Share your favorite recipes and tips with us!

And pay us a visit at our "sister site," Family Corner (http://www.familycorner.com/forums). We even have a Scouting forum over there. You can use the same member name although there is another registration.

Hi. I really enjoy forums like this. Everyone shares their kitchen experiences and recipes and it's just fun. I look forward to learning much and hopefully being able to share at least a little of my somewhat limited knowledge about the fine art of cooking. Winter's coming (lately it's been here) ... let the soups begin!!

Married for 24 years, two step-kids 31 and 33, 1 step gd age 14, one Baxter Black (age unknown ... a black Lab-Golden cross mid-life adoptee) and Molly, age 4, a militarily orphaned Golden. (less than six months til her Mom and Dad return :) ) My job is in the oilfield, 80 mile rt to work ... as sr. admin, HR, Northern Rockies software "champion", end-user support, and systems mgr. My life is my extended family, cooking for fun, reading, some TV, a little wine, a little, beer, and other various and sundry activities that may entertain me at any given time.

I'm mostly a week-end boardie.

I LOVE soups, especially during hot weather.

I have 2 grown children and 2 Gks. But, my babies are my 2 boys (chihuahuas). I look forward to getting to know you better in the future. I am enjoying your recipes too!

Hi Everyone,
I just found out about this site yesterday! I live in Toronto and I have been married for 5 years. We have a 15 month old son and he keeps us busy. Cooking is my passion - anything and everything - and I come from a long line of passionate cooks. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on which day you ask me, I am not in the catering business. I have thought about it though!:)
Looking forward to getting to know all of you.

I have a thrift tip. I buy the 5lb box of bacon ends and use them in recipes that call for bacon. Way cheaper than bacon slices. Here is a recipe I have used Egg Beaters in.

Scrambled Denvers (serves 2)

1 1/2 cup egg beaters
2 tbsp water
Bacon ends chopped fine(equal to 4 slices)
1 stick celery sliced fine
1/4 onion diced
1 lg cooked potato with skin sliced (use micro)
opp (1 finely sliced carrot, or 1/3 cup sliced cauliflower or broccoli

1. Par fry bacon, add onion, celery and vegetable. Fry till onion is done. Add potato and fry till browned.
2. Whip egg beaters with water and pour over mixture in pan. Continue frying while stirring till egg is cooked. Serve with sliced tomato.

I have a bunny who visits my gardin on a regular basis, she has a baby I call "Toot" cause he was raised on my bean plants. Together with his mommy they have eaten 3 plantings of beans, plus peas, beets, kolrabi, and lettuce,so does anyone have a good recipe for rabit stew?
I have just come back from a home town reunion. I had a ball, saw people I had not seem in 45 years. When we last met we were all going out into the working world and now we are all retiring from it. We all had careers, and raised families in between, yet it was like meeting them again after summer holidays, they were all the same people maybe a little changed on the outside, but still the same inside. It was wonderful|:) I hope all of you get to experience this joy, love to you all :)

Hi midnightmama214 and welcome back! Those rabbits can be a horror to a garden. The only thing I know that works is either a dog or poultry wire that has the bottom 1 foot extra covered that even the rabbits can't get through!

Hi! "Cooked" explains a lot about me. I love to experiment with food and I am always tired! I seem to be always busy with either my dh of 26yrs or my 3 kids and the others who tend to migrate to us. We have expanding walls! I am a crafter, baker, mom, taxi, cook, and a WAHM. I look forward to meeting all of you!

Hello!
All my friends call me Jos. I live in Las Vegas, NV, and work in the gambling business.
My hubby and I have been married for 30 years, and we have one great son.
I have many hobbies beside hanging out with my laptop. I love to read, crochet and beads. Beading is very relaxing to me, and I make great necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
Recently, I learned how to knit. I've been making beautiful scarves. They are good for the winter (keep you warm), and it's a nice project for beginners.
I very seldom cook, since most restaurant here are very inexpensive. But, at time, on my days off, I like to make something myself. Just can't do it without a recipe... This is why I hang out a lot at MM. Super place to be.
My next favorite place is FC.
Finally decided to join. Tired of being the guest.
