What is your ultimate favorite Ethnic food if you could only choose one?
Do you like American or Americanized foods such as hotdogs and apple pie, Italian such as pizza or lasagna, Mexican such as fajitas or quasadillas, Chinese such as stir-fry or egg rolls, Thai food such as General Tso's chicken, Greek food such as lamb or baklava or do you have a choice that isn't listed?

Being born and raised in Texas, I have been exposed to a lot of Mexican and Tex-Mex foods. I never get tired of it, and really could eat something Mexican every day. Tacos are such versatile foods- you can put just about anything in a corn tortilla and munch down. My mother loves tamales, and I'm a big cheese enchilada fan.

I love Italian food and good NY style Pizza!
Tied for close seconds are Greek and Chinese food.
I love Gyros! I am very picky about Chinese food places.
I haven't found a really good place here in NC yet. There is a fabulous
place where I live in PA.
HHHMMM.......funny how none of this stuff fits into my low-carbing now. :p

I didn't put Texas cooking on the poll, but I really love smoked brisket, potato salad, and pinto beans. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There just isn't any good Texas BBQ places here in NM. I guess I am homesick for Texas cooking.
It is so hard for me to pick as I love them all! But, I will pick Chinese because it is something you can't buy premade unless at a restaurant without it tasting bad.

Cheese enchilades, with chopped onion, and served supreme..lettuce & chopped tomatoes on top..they are the best..if authentic!
The last good one I had was in Fort Wayne, IN.

I just love Greek food. Especially Dolmathes. (ground beef or ground lamb mixed with rice and spices wrapped in grape leaves, with a little lemon juice squeezed over them) I love Feta cheese and Gyro's and can't forget Baklava!!! I live in SE Utah and we have a large Greek, Hispanic, as well as Italian population. We have Italian, Mexican and Greek, and Chinese restaurants in town. Many of the various populations came over to the US to work in the coal mines. Colleen

Colleen, do you have any recipes for that Greek dish? If you do, would you mind posting it on with the Ethnic dishes? I'd love to have it.
