 I bought a new front loading washer. Manufacturers stress using High Efficency (HE)Detergents only. I have soft water and was using 1/2 of regular powdered detergent amount recommended in my top-loading washer previously. Has anyone tried regular powder in new front loaders? I but in bulk and have 2 large boxes left. I don't want to mess up new computerized washer so any advice would be appreciated. I bought small bottle of HE to get started.

I also have a front loading washer. I did end up using my powdered Tide til it was gone. Then I learned on a local news from the Ombudsman that Kirkland's liquid detergent from Costo was the best to use in front loaders. That's all I use now and I love it. No more powder cake on the clothes (that would sometimes happen to me). Maybe give it away at Xmas as a stocking gift and get yourself the good stuff. Or if you have a moss problem on your roof you can use it there.
