1 loaf baked French bread
3 cups frozen blueberries
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 tsp cornstarch
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp Vanilla extract
4 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp almond extract


Slice bread 1/2" thick. Slice bread again diagonally. Place in a large nonstick baking pan snd set aside. Mix eggs, milk, baking powder, almond extract, and vanilla extract. Pour the mixture over the bread till all slices are thoroughly soaked. Cover the pan and allow to sit for one hour in the refrigerator. This step can be done the night before if yoiu like. Heat oven to 450 degrees. Pour blueberries into another nonstick baking pan. Mix the brown sugar, sugar and cornstarch. Sprinkle over the blueberries. Place the bread on top of the blueberries. Brush each slice with melted butter. Bake for 30 minutes. Serve with the blueberry side down. After the slices are placed on the plates, lay extra blueberries and sauce across the top. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and chopped nuts. Serves 6
