Good Morning Ladies! Debora ,you & Audrey both go back to school at the same time. The 26 of August is my sister's birthday she is three years older than me. I'm all stopped up in the head today I guess its brcause i mow yesterday & breathe in all the dust or grass that was blowing around.Dh ate two eggs this morning but is still hurting some but it is going better this time around.Have a good day all!

Nell, tell Audrey good luck in school. I feel for you on those allergies. I have them too. They were really terrible in Las Cruces, they are bad in Carlsbad, and thankfully, they are so-so. I can at least deal with my allergies in Texas. I am glad that your DH is doing a little better. That is the thing that I hate about cancer and chemo. Some days are really good and some days are really bad. There doesn't seem to be an inbetween. I hope he has more good days than bad. Keep us posted on the results of his scan.

I was supposed to meet with my friend for coffee this morning, but she had something come up this morning until 3am and then had to take her mother to the doctor. So, as soon as she takes a shower and calls me, we are getting together.

Welcome Cheri ! Good luck with the wedding & baby shower.Do your ds & gf know what the baby is going to be or it is it going to be a suprise? Debora took dh for lad work today was not real good news as his immune system is completely down so they sent him home with antiobotes to take & told him to stay home away from everyone this weekend so maybe he won't get sick with anything. If he runs a fever of 101 degress I have to take him to the er at the hospital. He was feeling a little better before he went to bed. Found out that girls camp will be at Beaver's Bend near Broken Bow Ok. this year which is nice as it is a little closer to us than where they went last year.Anyway hope all are having a great night!

Nell, I hope your DH doesn't get sick. Isn't there something that they can give him to boost his immune system?

Cat, is it just me or are ya'll making more trips to town than usual? I hope you have a good week.

Yes we are making a lot more trips than usual! WIth helping built DS#2's deck, helping out with getting the hearse towed, and just lots of stuff that seems to all come up at the same time! Looks like the next week and maybe the one after that will be the same. And then in between all that we have to work in a couple of doctor visits for DH and me.

Sweetnell, hope your DH is feeling better now and that he doesn't get anything from anyone! Great Audrey is going to go to camp; maybe she can put some of all the happenings in the back of her mind for awhile and enjoy herself without so much worry; sure hope so! Don't forget to take care of yourself too! Hope DS has his hours back up at work again.

cheri2057, sounds like you have your hands full with all the wedding and shower plannings! Are you getting help with the wedding plans or are you having it all your self? It can be a lot of fun planning both!

Have a good day all!

Hello Ladies! Just been hanging on this weekend made the descion to take a day off just to myself so will go to the trailer tomorrow & spend the day doing nothing LoL. But really everything seemed to catch up with me Friday so I decided to go there dh will know where I'm at if any of them need me yet I'll just have time away from everyone & everything. My inlaws are down the street.I'll have t.v. if I want to watch it or just have peace & quite. It is a little better with dh since he started the meds for his immune system. He thinks that going up to myself is a good idea ,ds might go along but it won't be any trouble as he pretty much stays to hisself. So I won't be on til maybe late tommorrow if I get on the computer at all.Just wanted you'll know I was okay just taking time for myself. Have a good night all!

sweetnell, I hope the "me" time does you some good.
Maddie isn't feeling well, coughing, running a temp.
Miriam is being a pain, she is mad because Maddie is getting me to herself, but I explained that Maddie didn't feel well so she needed extra cuddles.

Cat, I hope things slow down soon for you.

Nell, I hope you enjoy your day to yourself! I think you are very wise to take this time before you get too stressed out.

Coll, poor baby. I hope Maddie gets well soon and it isn't something too serious. Kids can before so jealous when the others get attention.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Tomorrow I have more phone calls to make in regards to my Internet service. This is becoming such a pain. I will be glad to get everything done. I also have to make a trip to the graduate school as well and do some more business. We will leave early Tuesday morning and come back on Wednesday evening.

Sweetnell, hope you have a great day doing for yourself; you need some me time and glad you can have it!

Coll, hope the kids are better soon, nothing worse than a sick child and the others not understanding!

DeBora, you sound like you are having problems with internet like I'm having with the phone company! Don't you just hate to have to do others job for them?

Have a good day all!

Well, I am waiting on a call from 1 last possible Internet provider about whether or not they can get me service. I told them where I live as in close to the airport and next to the race track. The lady is contacting the guys that put in the service and she said she will call me back. So, I wait. I hope I find out sood since we take the trailer there tomorrow.

cat lover
07-23-2007, 10:24 PM
OMG! What are you going to do if you can't get the service there? That is like us here, we can get NO CELL PHONE service here! We are right on the edge with all the providers. Since we live on privately owned land in a national forest we'll probably never be able to get cell phone service. We do have towers about 10 miles from us, but because of the hills we are blocked out mostly. It is like those commercials that use to be on, can you hear me now? LOL And if the wind blows you loose the connection! No kidding! Anything except dial up for the computer is the same! But even with all that... I Love living in such isolation!

DeBora4BobbyL

I don't know what I will do. I am pretty much at the mercy at the trailer park where I will be moving since there are no other places to move. I can only pray at this point.

Cat, I hope everything is okay with your DH.

I hope everyone is doing well.

We are beat. On the way to taking the RV to my new lot space, one of the tires had a blow-out and as a result, it tore up my sewer line. That is something else that DH will have to fix. The manager of the trailer park said that he will introduce me to the owner of the race track next to where I live. He said he might hire me to work on Friday and Saturday nights. That would be great as it wouldn't interfere with my school schedule and it would allow me to enjoy being around racing! How cool is that? lol

We will have Internet service, but it will be statelite and it will be expensive. That is another reason I need to get some type of a job that won't interfere with work.

Here in a bit, I am going to take the GKs to see Ratatouille. I made them some ratatouille this afternoon as well. Since it is the drive-in, we will also bring hotdogs and other munchies.

Oh yeah, I got a new car. It is a 2007 silver Ford Focus. I really like it. I won't let anyone eat or drink in my car though. DH wanted to use it to take DD back to Midland, but I wouldn't let him. He lets everyone eat and drink in his car and it shows. lol

Good Morning Ladies! Just got back from taking Audrey to the church to meet with the rest of the girls & leaders as they get ready to leave for camp. They had to delay lea ving though because of storms in the area so they will laeve as soon as it lets up or clears. She will be back Thursdays afternoon late just hope it doesn't rain on them the whole time as they are going to Beavers Bend National Park in Okl. this year. So a little peace & quite while she's gone to bad I couldn't sneak off & gone with her LoL. Dh is lying down as is ds.Ds has been having a toothach since yesterday but won't go to the dentist as he has no insurance also he's leary of dentist since he was small as he had a bad experince with this one dentist. Anyway hope evryone has a great day!

DeBora4BobbyL
07-31-2007, 11:56 AM
Nell, I hope everyone at your house is doing well. Tell your DS that I have the same fear! I am terrified to go to the dentist. I went yesterday to get a root canal and the laughing gas makes it bearable. Tooth infections can get in the brain, so tell him not to take it too lightly.

We are leaving this afternoon to go to Midland. DH has to fix my sewer line from the tire blow-out. I hope to be able to meet the race track owner and get a job that won't interfere with my school.

I'm here! LOL Just been a whirlwind week, we were on the road every day this past week and it has finally caught up to us both! DH is on some new meds to work with his prostate problems and we go back in three weeks. Maybe surgery after that and we still are waiting for the cancer to show itself so we can go from there. He is really starting to show the stress from all the waiting.

My sister may be coming out to visit on Thursday so I'm making some lunch. I have to call her at work tomorrow to be sure it is still on. If so I'm going to make ahead what I can.

Sweetnell, hope your DS is feeling better! Tell your DH I said hi and hope he comtinues on good progress. So glad Audrey got to go to camp; hope she has a wonderful time! And don't forget about yourself Sweetnell!

Cat, I hope you have a good visit with your sister.

We JUST got home from Midland. It rained 5 inches and our trailer sunk in the fresher churned durt that they dug for the lines. When DH tried to re-level it, it got worse! lol So, we left it until next weekend. We are hoping that it will dry up by then. We have some plans to make it more permanent. I still don't have Internet there. I DID get the job at the race track. He wanted me to start tomorrow night, but I need an additional week to get that trailer ready. More good news. The insurance company wants to pay me $750 for pain and suffering or "something for my time" from the car wreck. I made sure they understood that I just had to take some anti-inflammitories for a few days and only suffered from minor soreness. They still want to pay me the $750. Well, twist my arm!!! lol Oh yeah, more good news! Remember the bad neighbor who allowed drug people to live with her and got her in trouble with the law? Well, we found out that the people staying with her stole a TON of money from her. So, she kicked them out! I noticed she wasn't in any hurry to kick them out of her house when they were bothering other people, but the minute they caused her discomfort, they were gone! Also, the moving van is outside her house right now and she is moving! Whoo Hooo! Busy week, huh?

08-02-2007, 06:57 PM
Had a nice visit; she called at 7:30 am and said she was on her way so she got here early. We walked around the land awhile It was still cool out and then came inside a bit. She is allergic to cats and you know me (6 just inside LOL) so we moved out to the deck and then went back out and walked around some more. And of course all the cats wanted to do was either sit on her lap, paw at her or go after her shoes laces! She left about noon to run some errands and head home. Her DH is out of town for two weeks (I don't know why?!) so right now she is alone at home so she took 3 days vacation to do what she wanted! Sounds like a good ideas to me!

DeBora, wow hope your trailer is okay when you get back there! Sounds like we will have to keep in touch through internent at school. Will that work for you? Won't that be a bother though for school work with no internent at home? Maybe someplace close would have wireless that you can tap into or something.

You know, no matter where you live there is always somebody that causes problems or something. Glad your problem is moving away; we are still hoping for the same here one day. We and lots of other people are concerned that our problem "neighbor"-and I use that word loosely is doing a meth lab. I know he is being watched; it's just a shame it takes so long to catch some of them.

Sweetnell hope you and your family are doing well! Same for everyone else! Bilby, you around?

Cat glad you had a good visit with your sister! Debora great news about the job ,Hope you it you trailer on a firmer foundation. Also that something will come up so you can get internet.Dh had a rough last 2 days but today was better for him.Audrey is back safe & sound if not a little burnt LoL. She gets sunburn every year but this year was not so bad but some of the other girls got burnt worse. They had a blast though there was a total of thirteen girls all from our church in Paris.Next year Audery will be a counseler as it will be her 5th year of camp. Well hope everyone has a good night!

Cat, I am glad your visit went so well!

Nell, I am so glad that your DH is having a better day. That is what I hate with chemo. The days go up and down. Hopefully, he won't have too much longer to go. Audrey sounds like she is like me. I burn so easy too. I bet she is looking forward to being a counselor next summer.

I WILL be getting Internet at my place. It is just the difficulty in getting it. I am going to call them today and find out what the hold up is. Cat, the problem with getting wireless someplace close is that there is nothing where I live. lol That is why I am having so many problems. I live about a mile from the airport. So, we hear all the planes coming and going. I live near the train tracks, so we also hear that. Since I have the job, I won't have to worry about the car noises since I will be there! Music to my ears! DH hears things more than I do since I only have 1 ear that I can hear out of. He will be more bothered by the noise than I will. lol

DeBora he has his third treatment Monday then it'll be just three more after that. Also after this next treatment they'll do a scan & we'll know where things stand. We feel that it is going well but will have to wait & see for sure.Dh's sister from Lubbock was in as she took thier dad to the doctors in Dallas yesterday so her & thier mom came out to the house to see dh.Then Audrey & I met them up at TaMolly's Mexican restaunt to eat where thier older sister met us.We really had a nice time & we brought dh some food home afterwards. He was extremely wore out today though but still look better than he had.She couldn't get over how much wieght he has lost, but I told her he a least had gained 2 pounds at his last visit.I'm hoping he has gained at least one if not more this time. He is eat some better just not big portions at a time.Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Nell, I am glad that your DH is getting better. I bet you'll be glad when it's all over and your DH is all better.

Remember one of those bad eBay transactions in which the seller didn't give me my money back? Well, I got it back in the form of a $50 money order. DH deposited it in our bank Thursday evening at 4pm. Yesterday, he discovered that it turned into $500! I do believe everything was jinxed that month. I called the bank because you know they are going to discover it eventually. They said that they would do an investigation. They said that it may take awhile for them to figure out what happened. Maybe I will leave the Twilight Zone once school starts.

cat lover
08-04-2007, 03:33 PM
DeBora I had an experience with a bank years ago like that; where a little money turned into a lot of money! $3000 turned into $30,000! And they wouldn't believe me for the longest time! I finally pulled it out of my checking and put it in my savings and just sat on it and waited for them to find their mistake. Took them several months! I got to keep the interest for my "trouble". Hope yours works out too!

You sound like DH and I, we can't get anything but dial up here because we are so out in the woods! DSL would be nice, but then again I don't know that I want to pay the monthly fees for that!

Sweetnell, glad Audrey is back home again and had a good time! Being a counselor next year ought to be a lot of fun for her! Glad your DH is feeling better; that is great he has gained some weight back.

Hope you are taking care of yourself and that DS is doing okay also.

Take care all and have a great evening!

DeBora4BobbyL
08-04-2007, 03:40 PM
I won't be living in the woods, but I can't even get dial-up. lol I hope the people call me soon so that I can meet them in Midland to get my Internet! It kills me to go there for a few days and have no Internet. Last weekend it was really bad as we had a storm and then we were also without television. Since I am not in school yet, I didn't even have a book. lol I have avoided books since school has been out.

Wow $30,000! Yeah, they told me that it might be awhile before they figured it out, but they WOULD figure it out. I knew this. My concern was that by the time they did, I would no longer be able to prove that there was even a $50 deposit. Since it is eBay related, I decided not to take any chances. lol

cat lover
08-04-2007, 06:28 PM
You have your receipt from your deposit? Just hold onto that for sure!
Wow, and I thought it was bad here when dial-up was all we can get! LOL Good luck in getting it taken care of.

Do you keep any craft or sewing around? Maybe a small project for those type of no TV times! LOL

It appears that Robert DeNiro has just opened a Japanese style restaurant in Melbourne AU, he is here clelbrating the opening and his 67(?) birthday.
How many restaurants does he have in the US? Has anyone here ever been to one?

Sweetnell & DeBora how are you both doing?

Hi to Bilby, Coll, and Lizzie-boo!

Been crazy here; DH has his third biopsy scheduled for cancer. Now it is a 50% chance; his blood levels doubled the last six months. Other problems associated with it are creeping up so....

I have never eaten in a celebrity-owned restaurant. I don't think there are any around here in the Philly area.

Thanks Barbszy! Sorry, I forgot to include you and ajrsmom in the hellos! So... HELLO!

Hopefully with this third biopsy we will be able to discover something one way or another. It is really the " unknown" that is so bad. Just waiting to "find" the problem. I think once we actually do the stress will be a little better because at least we will know what we are dealing with finally. We've just gone every six months with this stress and then you try and put it in the ack of your mind till next time.

Well here I am at 2:30 am! Raccoon or coyote after some of the chickens again! I never heard or could find what it was. The dogs were going off about it though! We have lost so many the past few weeks.

Have a good day all!

Kathy, I didn't know that Robert DeNiro had any restaurants anywhere. If you go, let us know what it is like.

Cat, I hope everything comes out okay with your DH's biopsy.

Nell, DH and I got everything we needed for DGDs birthday party while it is tax-free weekend here in Texas. Is Audrey ready to go back to school? Good luck with your DHs scan.

I just got back from my trip yesterday evening. Sorry I haven't been online. I had NO Internet access while I was visiting my DS. The bad luck continued. My cell went dead before I got to Fort Worth and my lighter didn't work so I wasn't able to charge my phone. But, I when I got to Denton, I went into a convenience store and asked to use their outlet so that I could call my DS so that I would know where to meet him. My DS and DH were going crazy wondering where I was and if I had gotten lost. lol The next day, I was driving through a construction area that was miles long. I saw police everywhere!!! So, I set my cruise for 59 mph since it was posted 60. When I saw the sign state it was now 40mph, I started slowing down. I didn't want to hit the brakes in the heavy traffic of Denton. But, I didn't slow down fast enough and got a ticket! Grrrr. They really expected me to go from 60 to 40 in a matter of a few feet! I guess the locals were prepared for that, but I wasn't. The cop was very nice. In fact, when he saw my license plate, he knew I was a Bobby fan. He said Bobby was his guy and this was the most difficult ticket he's had to write all day. I can't deal with that until next week. My poor DS had to work every day. He didn't get home until almost midnight on Thursday night. I made chicken cacciatore for him and his boss. It was definitely a bachelor pad as there was no food in the house. They had plenty of coffee though. lol I am in Midland as today is my DGDs birthday party. Many guests could only come on Tuesday so we are having the party then.

I am trying to set up a password on my router, which has been a pain and I still haven't figured it out.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

08-19-2007, 08:38 AM
Thanks to all, all thoughts will help I'm sure! We are just getting going for the day. DS#2 gave me about 25 pounds of chicken he had in the bottom of his "animal" freezer so I cooked it all on the grill last night. Now today I have to pull it all off the bones for the cats and dogs. Will have enough for the week so need to bag it for the refrigerator. Should make stew for them with it, but just too much going on right now to fool with that. I know this winter I will wished I had! LOL

DH has decided he wants to go to the KY State Fair tomorrow so we are going to try. He hasn't been able to take any of his pain meds for his legs since we found out another biopsy Friday so I don't know how he will do with all the walking. Since he is on his very strict diet again aggressively I've packed a cloth cooler with snacks for the day. Sneaking in to some turkey breast shaved and some bread for sandwiches mid day. I've already frozen several water bottles to put in another smaller cooler. Luckily we take a "granny cart" to put all our fair things in and years ago DH made a "top" for it so the coolers sit right on it and I don't carry anything!

DeBora, so sorry you had all those problems! You would have thought that maybe the cop would have given you a warning instead of a ticket. Hopefully things will get better for you! Glad you are back!

Sweetnell, tell your DH we are thinking of him! Glad you and Audrey got some school shopping out of he way! Gosh, seems school just ended! LOL Take care of yourself and hope you get to feeling better soon! Maybe DS being busy is a good thing, doesn't have much time to think about things.

DS #1 got offtered a job he accepted. With the city where he lives as a peace officer working with animal control! He's thrilled! Now if something will come through for DS #2 all will be better. Their friend that lost his job at the same time has found a couple of part time jobs while he looks for something more permanent.

Have a good day!

DeBora4BobbyL
08-19-2007, 02:29 PM
Cat, I hope you have fun at the fair. That's a lot of chicken. Congrats to your DS on his job offer!

The police offer who gave me the ticket had to. It was one of those zero tolerance zones. I just blame the highway department for making those speed signs too close together. If I was a local, I would have know and would have slowed down in plenty of time. Bummer. I am going to check into whether or not I will be eligible for taking defensive driving to get out of the ticket. I may have to make an appearance to do so and if that is the case, I won't be able to do that since I live so far away.

Nell, good luck to your DH on his scan Tuesday.

08-19-2007, 06:19 PM
Dh won't find out the results of the scan til his next treatment which is August 30.Audrey & I will go to the school Tuesday sometime to see what classes she has for sure, while there we will find her locker location & may get to see some of her teachers.Hope to get the form for free or reduce lunchs so we can go ahead & fill them out.She excited about school but there will be some friends that have moved to other school ,she has some friends to will start at her school also some of the upcoming kid in ninth grade are friends of hers. Ds has had a friend out the last few days he will go home tomorrow.I'm feeling some better I think for the most part it was more stress than anything.Hope all are having a great evening!

Today Big DS goes to school to pick up his schedule. He knows what classes he has BUT they are doing a block schedule this year so he will have 4 classes from Sept to Jan and then the other 4 from Feb to June. He plans to spend a chunk of the day IM-ing with all his friends so they can figure out what classes they have together

It guess all this school take means that summer is just about over! :( A week from today my school starts and yet I have very little done. I have no textbooks, no parking sticker, and nothing else done.

At Audrey's school they have A day & Bdays where the classes are an hour long & have the subjects everyother day. It can be confusing when they break for christmas holidays.DeBora we get the schedule Tuesday & find out where her classe are ,also where her locker is located .As far as supplies we got all that she knew she needed will get the rest after she starts as the teacher's always have things they want the kids to get.Anyway I'll be glad for Monday to get here maybe things will quiten down here LoL!

Nell, I think we think differently about when school starts. lol Mine starts on Monday as well, but I am in NO hurry for it to start. Everything starts today in preparation for school to start. I am also so busy doing other things so this week will go by quickly. I am just not ready for school to start.

I am thinking that Big DS got the short end of the stick with his schedule.
First semester he has:
Honors Geometry
Mythology
Religion
Phys Ed/Health/Driver's Ed (OMG! He's going to drive soon! )

Second semester he has:
Honors English
Honors US History
Spanish
Forensic Science

I really wish this whole thing were reversed! He's going to get lazy with an easy first semester.

I am considering doing a little Spanish tutoring with him on a regular basis, so he doesn't forget EVERYTHING he learned in Spanish 1. That is the one class I had hoped he'd have in the first semester.

I am surprised that they are teaching forensic science in high school! I took that 2 semesters ago in COLLEGE! It was interesting and difficult, but I LOVED it. We learned about bugs, blood, DNA. bite mark impressions, tool mark impressions, fingerprinting, and so on. His first semester does sound a little light and his second semester sounds a little heavy.

DeBora, if he wanted 4 years of science this was the only way. Last year he had Biology (usually a Sophomore class but he got in it as a freshman) and the next one is usually Chemistry. But since he did not have Geometry last year he was not allowed to take Chemistry.

Forensic Science is a new class this year. They are turning 2 old "trailer classrooms" that are unused, into semi-permanent crime scenes and labs for the students.

I mentioned to him about the Spanish tutoring in the "off season" and he didn't protest! Amazing!

Sweetnell, in your state the kids have World History in 10th grade? Do they have history in 9th grade? My DS had World History last year.

No Audrey didn't have history last year she had world geography. Also they have a & b day. the first four subjects are A day and the last four are B-day.

Well we are out of the "school loop", LOL. Just getting as much ready for winter around here, but awfully hard to do with all this 90's plus temperature!

Sweetnell, so glad DH had his scan, and I know how hard the wait is for the results; that is what is so hard on my DH and me; all the waiting after each step! Just try and puit it in the background, but I know how hard that is too when you have to deal with the reality every day. Hang in there! Glad Audrey is getting ready for back to school, maybe that will lessen the stress on her because she'll have school to keep her busy. Sounds great your DS had a friend visit for awhile; I'm sure that helped get his mind on something else also. SO glad you are feeling better! Stress can appear in so many ways. Take care!

DeBora, guess you have your trailer all moved and set up; did you get your internent issue resolved? We just checked into the local satillite dealer that recently started up, but even that won't work for us! It comes in the from the SW , but much lower than satillite TV and they tell me because of living in the woods we wouldn't be able to receive it! Plus one of the installers told me it is so new that half the time the people that have it are having equipment breakdown! Looks like we will be waiting some more!

Wow Barbszy, guess my age is showing, but your DS's classes sound like college classes rather than HS! Hope it all goes well for him!
Did you get your garlic shrimp sauce remade?

DH did well at the fair yesterday, he said he enjoyed it better than he can ever remember( quite a comment coming from someone that has memory loss....LOL) We took our time a sat down and watched a few cooking demos and then sat to have our snacks we took. DH got one lemonade shakeup and I was bad and got one corn dog! SO that is all we spent on food and that was $8.00. $5.00 for the lemonade shakeup and $3.00 for a corndog. I don't know how families take their kids anymore with admission, parking, and food prices. And all the ride tickets were $1.00 each and the rides were all a minimum of 3 tickets!

Have a good day all!

Nell, I forgot this is Tuesday. I bet ya'll can't wait until the 30th.

Cat, we were surprised at the cost of rides at carnivals. I think it was about $10 for 2 of us to go on 1 ride! One of us adults had to ride with the GKs on most of the larger rides.

Barb, let me know what your DS thinks about his forensics class. I took mine last fall and LOVED it! Since I watch a lot of documentaries, it took what I already knew and broadened it. Many found it challenging. It was a but difficult, but I found it to be a fun class! I hope your DS does also.

The university called me this morning and offered me an assistantship! I don't know if they are going to tell the other job or not. I think this job will be better because it will be fewer hours. It pays $4,000 per semester plus a $5,000 scholarship. This job probably won't burn me out so much as I was fearful that the other job would do.

Well, I need to take a nap before the party. I got the cake decorated, the fairy wands done, the fairy dust cups, the fairy dust, and so on funished for the fairy tea party fairybration for my DGD.

DeBora, have a blast at the party!!

Forensic Science won't be until January but I'll let you know how he likes it.

Cat lover, I am glad that they challenge the kids in this school. My son can be lazy but he will rise to an academic challenge especially if he respects the teacher. (And he has the most respect for the ones who make him work the hardest--and stretch to learn something new!)

Got that sauce and the other do-ahead stuff done this afternoon :D

Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I had NO Internet until I got back home tonight! I got up this morning to get on the Internet and discovered that I could not! I started a thread about it. Feel free to post if you can explain what the heck broad band width (http://www.familycorner.com/forums/showthread.php3?p=552502#post552502) is and how I could exceed my download threshold? I was trying out a new wireless router and wasn't able to get it secured, so I cannot help but wonder if someone used my Internet connection and downloaded a bunch of music or something while the router was on and unsecure?

My DGDs party went so well! I found out that cotton candy melts fast when exposed to the environment, especially when there is moisture in it. lol By the time we got the cake to the party, the dress on the fairy was still pretty as she had a hot pink dress with a weird design. I did some repair work to redecorate the cotton candy dress. I think I redid it well enough to look good in pictures before it melted again. The kids had a blast. At the very beginning, a lady came up to us, screaming about her poor 5 yr old being injured and someone needed to watch his/her kid! She had already screamed at Christina, an 11 yr old, that was at our party. We were at a park. They were just yards away. Christina is a sensitive girl and I saw that she had been trying to help this little boy on the teeter-totter. I was trying to get the party ready to start and we were right next to that section of the park. The mother of the little boy wasn't even watching her DS. All she knew was that her poor baby was crying. He fell off the teeter-totter and she figured that Christina had pushed him down. Christina's fathered asked the mother why she wasn't watching a 5 yr old and then he turned around to ignore her as she continued yelling and screaming. I decided not to say anything since it was my DGDs birthday party or that lady would have been given a nice tongue lashing. I was more concerned for Christina. I looked and tears were streaming down her face. She is one of those children who are always helping others and very sensitive. I just grabbed her and held her and hugged her. I told her that sometimes adults over-react when their kids are hurt (the boy had no injuries and had fallen onto some sand). After comforting her, we teased her. During DGDs 2nd birthday party at this exact same park, I believe it was Christina who was swinging, when DGD walked in front of her swing and got hit in the nose. It gashed my DGDs nose too. I teased Christina that she was the same kid who injured my GD! I asked if she was in a gang too when she wasn't hurting kids at parks?! She laughed. If you knew this kid, you would know that she is so sensitive and well-behaved. My DDs friend's 3 kids have always been behaved when I am around them. Other than that, the kids had a blast.

Oh well. Other good news is that I got a call about the first job! The woman apologized that she didn't call sooner and wanted to know if I was still interested in the job. (I had been told they were meeting about the position last weekend.) I told her that I had already accepted a position as a graduate assistant in the public information department. She said she was glad for me and stated that she wished she had called earlier with the offer as now she called too late. It made me feel good.

Barb, I hope you were able to get all that sauce done without using it as a floor polish. lol

Nell, did your day go well?

Well, I need to get to bed. DH is taking me out to breakfast and then I have a meeting to attend.

Hi all, It has been a while but I'm hoping to get back in some type of schedule and then will have time for a coffee chat. I don't know where the summer went or what we did but time flew. Cass started 5th grade at a new school this year. It's called middle school but seems much like jrhi. She seems to be adjusting to it ok. A prayer Nell that all shows well on the scan. Good Luck DeBora on your new job and new year. Barb I know my kids always did their best for the teachers who challenged them. Not necessarily the ones who piles work on them the teachers who made them think.

It sounds like everyone is getting into a routine.

I am moving on Wednesday as I have NO Internet at my place and cannot obtain it. The only way I can get Internet is at school or if the only Internet in the area is working and leaks into my home.

I will check in tomorrow sometime.

Hi Sweetnell! Glad to see you! I know you've been busy with schol starting and all. Hope your Dh is doing okay.

We are waiting for the results of my DH's biopsy; told it could be a week to 10 days; but then we will know (hopefully) what the next step will be.

Things are starting to look up some for the boys so just hoping they continue on a up scale!

Hope your move goes well and you get set up quick DeBora!

Have a good evening all!

Nell, I hope that Audrey's school goes better. It sounds a bit disorganized to me if they are putting her in a class she already took.

Cat, good luck on your DHs biopsy.

Well, my bad luck continues. I was taking my DD and DGD home yesterday from some errands. I was stopped at a red yield sign and a lady in an SUV was stopped as well behind me. She, for whatever reason, decided to take off and hit the gas and hit me! My head hit something. Other than a headache, I am fine. The back bumper will need to be repaired. My school is going well. I went to work today since my boss wanted this guy to train me. I drove all the way to Odessa to find out that she was absent due to an illness and the guy training me wasn't there either. I'm not even supposed to start yet, but came in as a favor. I will have to tell her to email or call me if she doesn't want me coming in since gas is expensive to drive to school for no reason. I have another meeting in less than an hour.

Have a great day all.

The biopsy came back negative; the third time, but the levels continue to raise extrememly high! So here we go again waiting another six months! I have no idea of what they can do next and what "medical" tests can figure this out. A pet scan or a antigen blood test won't work in this instance so...... So I guess we try and put it in the background and wait the next six months!

DeBora, glad no one was hurt worse than you were; that's bad enough! Hopefully things will start going well for you; I think you've had enough for now! LOL

We have to go insure the Firebird today as it is supposed to be ready next week as long as the last few things don't take longer than they plan. It is DH 55th BD today so we may walk around the little town of Corydon's shops around the courthouse circle. Will see for sure when DH wakes up!

Have a good day all!

Cat, I am glad that your DH's test came back negative, but I wish they would figure out why his levels continue to rise.

Nell, I am Audrey's school is off on Monday as well. I hope she enjoys it.

Well the news was good as the cancer is shrinking, but on the other hand dh has lost 8 pounds in three weeks so the doctor was not happy about that. Also there is some thickening in the clon area so not sure what that means. He will have his last two treatments then he will have another scan hopefully it will be clear, also keep in your prayers that he start gaining weight.Other than that the doctor said dh was looking better.Audrey does have school off Monday, though we don't have any plans for Labor Day.Hope all are having a good night!

Maybe you can all just have a nice day together on Monday. We don't have any plans either other than being here at home(I hope no one needs anything).

Hope you are settled after the move DeBora!

Nell, that is good news that the cancer is shrinking. I hope your DH gains weight and that the cancer disappears.

I have a 4 day weekend! I plan on washing laundry today as well as cleaning and organizing the trailer. It looks like a tornado came through from the move. Then, I have 4 papers to write as well as research and about 7-8 chapters to read.

I hope everyone is enjoying their TGIF and their weekend!
