1 can tuna, undrained (use any type you like) Separate from juice.
1/8 cup butter
1/8 cup olive oil
1/4 cup flour
2 cups milk
salt and pepper to taste
sliced bread, toasted

Pour the butter, oil, and tuna juice in a frying type pan. Heat and add flour. Stir on low and cook for for 3-4 minutes to make roux. Scald milk and add to roux. Use wire wisk to reduce lumps. Add tuna. Stir until thick. Pour over toast. May sprinkle shredded cheese on top if desired.

This is a different recipe than I make but its still a frugal meal. For mine, I make a medium white sauce using cornstarch, milk and butter.

Its called Tuna Wiggle in our house--from my MIL--I dont know where that name came from! ;)

I used to make mine with butter only too, but since I discovered olive oil, I use both. But it can be used with any oil I sure. I'm like you, I cannot imagine why they call it that! LOL
