Do you like Chocolate Easter eggs? What are you favorite fillings for them?

THAT was a hard poll!
My absolute favorite is "whoppers" eggs....last Easter I had half a bag of those, with coffee, for breakfast :D

Timely question. :) I chose coconut cream because of the *fabulous* sample I tried in the grocery store this morning. Oooh that was great! It was more than just coconut cream, it's almost as if there was cream cheese or something in there. I think I'll buy one next week... they were kind of expensive but I won't be making homemade this year.

I guess I need to get out more as I didn't know that there were different kinds of fillings for chocolate Easter eggs. I knew there was the chocolate eggs and I knew about the Cadbury eggs that actually looks like a real egg on the inside. Now I will notice, I am sure.

Oh girl, I am going to have to talk to the Easter Bunny about visiting you this year!!! ;)
I'm not so sure about around here, but in Pa., you could find chocolate Easter eggs filled with all of those fillings in the poll and more!
Barb, My hubby loves the little "Robin Egg" Easter Eggs too! :D
Me, Mine would have to be either coconut or choc w/pecans!

For sure! So many to choose from! I used to make a batch every year and I could never decide then, either... I always made half peanut butter and half coconut cream. And yes, I bought that special decorating tube thingie to put a star or rose on top of each... that's how we told them apart! hehe Yellow flower was one flavor, pink was the other. :)

So funny that you should mention that! About 12 years ago, my Mom and I had a small chocolate business that we took orders for out of her house. We made the big 1 lb and 2 lb eggs and that is how we would tell them apart too. :D Only we bought them and didn't make them ourselves.
I remember making the peanut butter filling ...MMMMM!!! Have you ever cooked sweetened condensed milk until it turns into caramel? YUMMY! So bad for you yet sooooo good. lol!! :D
katharina, what state do you live in?

I don't know what they use for filling but I love Cadbury Cream eggs. I would eat them all year if I could find them!

THe buttercream eggs with chocolate coating, with pretty frosting flowers on the top that Fanny Farmer made in the 60's and early 70's. They changed them after that and they weren't as good. When you broke them apart it had a yellow yolk! Loved them....wish I could have one again.

:) I really miss making those sometimes. I couldn't make 1 and 2 lb. eggs, though... I wouldn't be able to resist EATING too many of them! I did buy a coconut cream at the store on Saturday, though... it was fabulous!
