I've recently come back to something my own mother did when I was a kid. When I make homemade french fries (or actually fried pickle chips which are a big hit in our house!) I've started straining and saving the frying oil in an old jar to reuse. Works out pretty well :p

I've always thought that it was such a waste of oil to make one dinner and throw it out. This is a good idea!

Deep fried pickles are a big thing around here. I can't bring myself to try them yet!
