In what ways do you celebrate Easter? You can check all that apply.

Our church does an Easter Egg Hunt as an evangelistic event, so we'll do that the weekend before Easter.
On Easter Sunday, we generally go to church, then have a meal with my husband's family. Since my parent's are out of state, I don't get to see them. We generally buy baskets for the kids.

DeBora, the poll only let me select one answer
Last Easter we decided to go as a family to the Saturday night Easter Vigil. It's a couple of hours long but it is THE Easter celebration in the Catholic faith. It is full of wonderful symbols and special rituals that only take place on this one night.
We haven't made plans as to who will visit on Easter, but we generally have dinner here, and invite family/friends as guests. Guess we should get going on that!

We celebrate both Easter and Pssover. My husband's family is secular, not religious at all.. so Easter is celebrated with a big dinner at my in-law's home. The kids (and us) get Easter baskets, and my MIL makes bread dolls with an egg as the face. The story of Easter is told, and questions answered for the kids.. (not too different from how we celebrate Passover).
At home we dye eggs, and the night before Easter we hide plastic eggs filled with coins throughout the house, leaving a bunny trail across the floor marked with jelly beans. Thankfully the dog doesn't eat jellybeans! :) :p

Oh, that's too funny. I couldn't do anything like that. Our kitten would have the trail going every which way! LOL Besides, wouldn't it hurt if you stepped on one of the jelly beans in the middle of the night on a trip to the bathroom?!

Lifestar, great idea on the jelly bean trail to the Easter baskets.
If it's not raining, I go out in the morning and hide plastic eggs (filled w/ candy, money, toys) in our backyard. I put them on & in the playhouse, on the steps up to the clubhouse on the wooden swingset, around the edge of the deck, in any dip in the yard (it makes them harder to see even if it's just a small dip), along edge of the fence, anywhere I can think of. I make some easier to find so dd2 has a chance to find some. They love it! I really need to get out there and use the pooper scooper so we can have an accident-free Easter egg hunt.
If it's raining I hide the plastic eggs all over our downstairs. It's still fun, but we'd rather be outside. I try to find creative places to hide the eggs in the house...on chairs, beside computer, on phone cradle, in remote control basket, on stairs, etc.
Occassionally we go to our city's Easter Egg hunt at the park but it's pretty chaotic. They divide the kids into age groups, but when dd2 was little some of the parents went into the "ring" w/ their kids and the parents were blocking other kids from getting eggs & taking them right as the little kids were reaching for them. The older kids all stampeeded over each other to try to get to the eggs first. I prefer just having our own little egg hunt at home. Some years we invite the neighbors over & they hunt eggs together.
This year Easter is the day before dd2's bday so we'll be having her family bday party/Easter brunch all in one. She's so excited!

When my children were little, we would dye eggs on Saturday night. Then, the kids would set the eggs out for the Easter Bunny to hide. The next morning, the eggs would be hidden everywhere--depending on the weather as to whether or not it was outdoors or indoors. As the children would look for the hidden eggs, they would discover that each had a basket of goodies also hidden somewhere.
