Did any of you have any of this peanut that was recalled? We had a jar. It was the Peter Pan. Ours was the honey roasted and I love that peanut butter. I guess it had salmonella in it. My sons haven't had any of it since we seen the recall but before that this was what I was using in my oldest son's lunch. Now I am thinking I might have to take him into the doctors tomorrow because last night he woke up throwing up four times and has had dirrareah today. The throwing up has subsided though, hoping it might just be the stomach flu.

Hope your son is okay! The one we had just finished wasn't the one recalled, but I had two new ones that are! I buy the big 6 pound canister at Sam's because we are so far from groceries. Luckily we hadn't opened those yet. I finally got someone from ConAgra Foods to call me and tell me what to do with those. Everything seemed to be geared towards the smaller jars and my codes were printed on the side of the canister not on the lid like they kept talking about. So I spent about $12.00 for the two and wasn't ready to just throw them away and be out that much. So they are sending me an envelope prepaid to return them to them!

First, welcome to Moms Menu. Also, there is a thread (http://www.momsmenu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2206&highlight=recall) on this subject if you want to read more about it!

We also had a new jar of this peanut butter also. When the recall came through my husband had just started a new job and was in a probationary period. We were hoping and praying that he would not get sick and luckily he did not. I heard that if you had to go to the doctor for this that the company is supposed to pay the doctor's bills, but that is just word of mouth.

Luckily he didn't get sick! I would imagine that was probably just a "rumor" going around as usually the only way to get something like that done is to sue the copmpany, but like I said luckily you didn't have to worry about it!

Thank you for the welcome. Sorry I missed the other thread about this. Thanks for posting it. I just wanted to come back and let you know that I did end up taking him into the doctors but it was just the stomach flu which made it through the whole house.

Flu isn't fun, but at least it wasn't the peanut butter! Hope to see you around MM!
