View Full Version : Sausage Cheese Breakfast Cups

1 cup cubed white bread (2 slices)
1/4 cup cooked crumbled breakfast sausage
1/4 cup shredded monterey Jack cheese
2 large eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp dry mustard
1/4 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp onion powder

Layer the cubed bread, cooked sausage, and cheese evenly into 2 greased 8 oz custard dishes. Whisk together the eggs and next 4 ingredients. Pour evenly over the cheese in the custard cups. Cover and chill 8 hours. Let stand at room temperature 20 minutes before you bake them. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or till they are set. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Serves 2

Thanks for posting this receipe. This sound awesome. I think my boys would love these. I might have to substitute chedder cheese for the monterey jack because they don't care for that cheese. Thanks again.

With the substitutions I have to make for DH I've made several and put them in the refrigerator and then thrown them in the microwave and take them with us as we head out the door! Hope your boys like them!

This is definitely going to be on my breakfast table next week! (And not until then only because I need to buy the sausage first). :) It sounds delicious.

Let us know how you liked them. I'm always looking for recipes I can make ahead of time and use as a "take" with us breakfast. DH and I have to go to other towns (we live in a very rural area) to do almost anything so being "on the road" is a way of life for us. So if it is an appointment and we have to be there early a take with breakfast is a must! LOL
