Wow can you get the White Castles there? I used to dearly love them, but I guess this lose your taste thing is true! I've tried them here and there and they aren't bad, but the wildness of wanting them isn't there any longer. Cooked in dishes they are fine, but I just don't have the taste for the regular little square burger any longer.

We can only get the White Castle hamburgers in the freezer section of the grocery store.

I' m sure they will work fine for the recipes, but as far as eating like real burgers they don't live up to the taste of fresh ones!

They don't taste different than the "real" thing that I have had.

I guess because we grew up on them there just doesn't seem to be anything better than bringing that hot sack of sliders out and digging into them! LOL

I guess I'll have to look for a White Castle restaurant next time I travel.

How about Denny's spin off of White Castle burgers? Has anyone tried them? I had them once, they were ok. I have never been to a real White Castle to compare them to anything.

Do you know what they are called at Denny's?

Didn't know Denny's had a "copy cat"! You can go to WhiteCastle.com and that site will tell you all about the burger! They are a little square burger with holes punched in them. They actually steam cook by placing the burger on a grill on top of onions chopped fine seasoned with salt and pepper and these little buns on top of all that; that is how they steam cook them. They aren't very big, and the patty is really thin. They have a taste that is so different than other burgers.

When we were growing up they were called (not officially as it has always been "White Castle"), porcelain palace. They are a little white building built with something that looks like white porcelain "stones", built to look like a small castle of some sorts. It was the place to go in high school; hamburgers were a dime!:D And we would swing by there before school and get coffee and doughnuts. Wow memories!

I think that they just call them 5 mini cheeseburgers. I will have to check and let you know.
